OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

It creates problems for our team,
He is supposed to be the leader of our team but the only thing they know is he does not really give a sh"t,
Cause he has just got to put up with our team for another couple of months,
And move on,
And our club was great for him and his family Helping him in Securing his financial future.

It is small potatoes but the Govt did play the rugby league card very well. They knew how big it is up there and using as leverage was a clever political move.
Step one has gone smoothly but I think there’s going to be a few roadblocks along the way.
Albo’s team should have to give up a Duncan or a Mitchell. We gave up a so called Marquee

Interesting news just through that the PNG government is closing the Taiwanese Embassy in Port Moresby as a sign of recognition to Chinas one nation policy. Taiwan is à leading trade partner with PNG but that has been cast aside in favour of the Chinese Govt.edict.
We might have won the League war but there’s plenty more battles ahead. IMO à major battle over Taiwan seems inevitable down the line.
Taiwan is a proxy for the actual war. That is the US wanting to destroy its biggest rival (already been surpassed). In other news the war will be fought not in the US but in fact, in the Phillipines, Guam, PNG and of course IN Australia by us with standoff weaponry and naval warfare. Hope everyone's keen.

This club has had a rare win getting out of the $3.6 million left on Luai’s contract “only” having to pay $500k … you can’t tell me there is not some buyers remorse at PNG now the way he is playing … if I was a Parra fan I wouldn’t be doing cartwheels either looking at how he is going now …looks lost …
I think he is trying too hard to make things happen and forgetting what is his role. Some of the passes and decisions he made yesterday were just frantic.

Does anyone know how injury management will work in PNG?

Not sure I would be looking forward to having an ACL repaired over there

Luai's ceiling at the club was perhaps improving standards (when he was commited) and reinforcing our left side defence. He has not been able to greatly improve on field performances nor has he been able to activate our left side attack. There are a multitude of reasons for this, however at its core was the fact we brang him across to do 3 things, Improve standards, attract players, and deliver as a organising 7. I would say he partially delivered on the first 2 of these 3 and I honestly cannot see him delivering of the 3rd so its a blessing in disguise that the PNG gig came along and that Benji had the balls to get rid of him at the end of this year. I don't hold any ill will towards him and I hope he makes a fist of it at PNG, they just need to find an organizing half to complement him. I think he is a great 6, however not worth $1.2m to us. If he was on $750 - 800k i would probably be dirty about him leaving.

Shift him to left centre for our final 4 matches.

100%.

he can help Javon learn how to defend in firsr grade.

Javon controls the ball, with his elite ability to pass short (Samuela) or long to Luai or the winger.

Latu at 7.

Next season May will replace Laui at left centre.

Douehi can go to right centre and spend some time at lock in a Yeo style role. Next season right centre be replaced wih Averillo.

All of the above 👍

Once Latu is back I would have him at 7 and Javon at 6, Luai left centre and AD right centre, Turuva right wing and Maka left wing. Before Latu is back I would play Jerome at 7 and Javon at 6. AD cannot be 7 he needs to either play right centre or 13 off the bench.
Hoping we are able to name Latu for reserve grade, and get him back in NRL next week. Unsure if that’s possible.
