Jarome Luai

i don't think luai is a good fit for bulldogs. They need a proper halfback and prop. Their game plan is completely clueless (not that ours isn't) but I can see Luai doing a lot better here than there. They are a team of individual players on big money (Kikau, Burton, Fox, Mahoney). We have a lot of team players like Bula, Api, Staines, Stef and Pole. We just need an elite half (either Mam, Dearden, or Luai) alongside Sullivan who is a 7. Fainu is very young and can learn in NSW Cup or off the bench. Isaiya Katoa at Dolphins is rated very highly but he's been kind of average so far. If you look at Luai's career, he debuted at 21, played bench when he was 22, and then from 23 years old has been in every grand final since. I don't think we lose Fainu if we sign Luai. He's on good money and I doubt another team risks signing him higher when there are halves like Dearden and Mam also on the market
Whilst your logic and facts are right, still think that Gus will be in there punching.
I mean if he got Luai he would have Luai.”, Burton and Critter in centre field. That’s a strong unit.
Like many of the other players we’ve chased, a lot of it is whether they actually believe the Tigers are capable of becoming a force, and weighing that up against the Dogs ?

Wests Tigers are poised to offer a four-year, $4.5 million offer to Jarome Luai in a bid to snare the most prized signature on the open market.

The Tigers have had ongoing talks with Luai and his manager and are planning to lodge a formal offer on Thursday. Sources with knowledge of the situation, not authorised to speak publicly about the matter, said a contract could potentially be put before Luai’s management before close of business on Thursday.

The development comes after This dichkead revealed that Tigers coach Benji Marshall had personally made a secret pitch to Luai at the Penrith playmaker’s home.

The Tigers deal will dwarf a Panthers extension offer of $1.7 million over two years, which Luai has so far opted not to accept. Marshall believes he can build the club around Luai, who will get the chance to be the chief playmaker if he opts to shift from the foot of the mountains.

The Luai interest comes at a time when there is intrigue over David Klemmer’s future at the joint-venture outfit. Klemmer is contracted until the end of 2025, with a mutual option for the following season.

However, the Tigers won’t stand in his way if another club is prepared to offer a long-term deal.

More to come

Fixed it for you mate 😉

Lol, it will be $5.4m tonight and $19m by the weekend. Media are so accurate.

I guess Inflation is tough ri

If this is how they negotiate contracts now with all their prospective recruits, maybe I need to send my resume down to the Tigers too.

thanks … you do that … did you win three premierships?

I'm going to call it my masthead tonight and see if I get further with the missus

The leaking is insane. Surely it’s player management. You’d think our favourite lawyer could get these blokes to sign something to say they’re not going straight to the bloody SMH.

Love him or hate him Luai would be a great signing and a signing we need even given we have already heavily recruited in the halves and have some real good ones in the pipeline.

Luai turns up every week, maybe it is ego driven, but he is a very competitive person. He is strong defensively, has a football brain and a kicking game. He also pretty good at the skill of gamesmanship and putting opponents off their game.

Lastly it is so important we finally nail one of these big fish to finally get the monkey off our back

With a spine containing Api, Luai and Bula, we might finally be taken seriously as a footy club. Still not holding my breath on this one, nothings been done yet.
