Jason Cayless

Has he been playing in reggies, and if so, does anyone know how he has been going? If not, what was his injury?

Just wondering if he is a chance to play this week considering our injuries?

I saw him sitting in the stands on Sunday, so he still exists.

No mate not for Wests…but I have seen him at most home games in a suit...

The Ryan O'Hara of 2010...

Sheens was quoted in RLW magazine a couple of weeks ago saying Cayless dodgy knee was coming good, but honestly, with the lack of matches he has played this year and lack of match fitness, it would be crazy throwing him in for the finals.

he could barely run at the start of the season before this latest injury. if he gets a start, we're in trouble.

Is the Knee in addition to the Shoulder reco he was coming back from initially??

Yes. He had knee surgery in the offseason and it either didn't work or he suffered further damage at the start of the season which has effectively wiped him out for this season.

When he played he mostly ran decoys.

Cayless & Tupou - great signings by the Commander.

You can add Wade McInjured to that list.

McKinnon has played very well. I am quite happy with that signing.

Given the money paid for Cayless and Tupou was very little and they were always seen as risky propositions, Im not sure that criticism of Sheens is warranted. But I guess when the club is performing so well, the Sheens haters need to find a new reason to criticse the bloke.

Fans of most clubs would love to have a coach that goes out on a limb - no not at this club. We just want permanent reserve graders like Gallant.

It's a shame really. Cayless was close oto the best prop in the NRL when he left.

Another one of those players whose career will be cut short by their failing body.

I agree with this….but I still think we need to cut the strings, it doesn't seem he's going to get back up there.

I'm not saying he has been terrible when he has played. I'm just saying he has missed more games than he has played and that we seem to sign alot of injury prone players. I can understand why we signed Wade for this year because we don't really have any strong fullbacks at the club but to sign him for another 2 years seems strange to me. Signing Cayless for 2 years was a rather strange decision too. I predicted at the start of the year he would only last a few games.

Yes.
Theyve been great signings if spectators are what were after.
However players spend their time ON the field.

Geez….. we took a punt on the likes of Prince, Richards and Benji....

Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't...given who we got rid of only Morris has been value to another team...

Cayless was a gamble that didn't pay off...

Carry on...

More likely to not work out when you target injured players

Target fit players, problem solved.

Like John Morris,,,,

Are you pshycic …..Fit players get injured to....

Dont really understand what you are on about. McKinnon has played well and will hoepfully still feature in our finals charge. We got him on the cheap so I am hardly worred if he doesnt. Same goes with Tupou.

Less can be said for Cayless (although I understand he was still relatively low value).

As Geo says, we have made punts in the past that have paid off and some havent. It doesnt look like Tupou or Cayless will pay off unfortunately. But that is no reason to criticise the coach for taking a risk.
