I don't think he ever bagged previous coaches. He stated that our defense was terrible and had to change. Of course he couldn't fix it either, but I don't think he ever directly bagged then.
It's pretty obvious we don't agree with the Farah situation but he never bagged him publicly. He only wished him well actually.
 
He bagged previous systems in defence, and went into detail about how "soft" they were. To me that was bagging past coaches.

Anyway. he carried himself really well tonight. He could have trashed us but I thought he spoke well and with dignity.

He will provide good insight as a pundit on fox. There is no doubting his passion or his knowledge of the game.

I just don't think he was a great man manager or motivator. That was probably where he came up short as a coach.
 
JT is a top bloke, he invited me and my sons to the dressing rooms after a game in 2016… very level headed person and classy. Was done the wrong thing by the BIG4 and he was thrown under the bus by the club, just to save the BIG4...
 
Just watched his interview and i really must admit he handled himself superbly , he could've thrown a lot of dirty laundry but just excepted that it was just part of the parcel of the job.

I think he was thrown under the Bus by players and Management as they made out that they had there support but there is no doubt behind the scenes they were planning on getting rid of him all along , you could tell with Woods body language at Press Conferences with JT.

He pretty much said that the Club has bent over backwards with these so called Big 4 and if you ask me have been very self centred…..what can you expect when they all have the same Manager?
The time is now to get tough and no player is bigger than the Club.
 
Only watched a 3 minute clip of the interview. Even after being fired and then to only find out through the media, he still only had good thing's to say about the board and how its being run.
 
Came across very well. Seemd more bitter at the players than he did at the club, especially around contract negotiations and the fact that some of the players should commit to the club. If he was speaking to them like that behind closed doors then no wonder the princesses began to undermine him. It was his fault not theirs.
My biggest concern was him talking about the Simona story breaking and how it rocked a lot of players. I interpreted it to be that the comments about the habits of some of his team mates may have been a bit close to home for some.
 
Hopefully JT will be seen as the person who sprouted the seeds of change at the WT's

He wasn't everyone's cup of tea and he would admit he made errors along the way

Wish him the best of luck in the future , he deserves it , poor bugger had to put up with our sad sack of players for 2 and a bit seasons who still have no idea about putting themselves on the line

When you have zero cap space you are on a hiding to nothing as a coach. I doubt very much Cleary would have taken the role on if it was still going to be a chain around our necks. Hope he realises how lucky he is.
 
I made some comments about Jason Taylor on this Forum about twelve months ago. I have a relative, who works at the Club. He has always spoken most highly about Jason and said there was more to him than most people often saw. I was not surprised by his performance on League Life.
Good luck to Jason in the future.

Was most interested in how strong he was about the 'big 4' owing the club and how disappointed he is that they are not committing… especially Moses who "after being developed by the club and given an opportunity by the club to earn big money, ups and leaves as soon he gets a whiff of bigger money elsewhere...

Right now, a lot of us can relate to those thoughts!
 
Good on him for keeping professional but I feel he had no choice.If he had gone out there ranting and raving it wouldn't of done him or his prospects for future roles in NRL any good.
 
I agree he spoke well, showed class in the interview, he didn't bag the club and board but sure did put the polite boot into the players.

Taylors notion of loyalty is romantic, but there doesn't appear to be any love from the players.
 
I think JT echoed what a lot of fans think - you want to play finals football? Make it happen, the club wants to pay you to do that.

Don't be a cop-out and say you need to find another club to get there. That's just admitting you aren't good enough to take this team to the finals, you need to surround yourself with other players (*cough* Mitchell Moses *cough*) to make it.
