Jason Taylor ...THREAD...

No. I'm sick of the Jobs for boys culture here.

Get someone not affiliated with Balmain, Wests or Wests Tigers, for every coaching role and every role to do with recruitment and retention.

Time for this club to grow up and start to operate as a professional business

Yep since our new GM , that O'Neil fella came on board we have been going great guns…. 0-6

Spot on!!. We have invested heavily in underperforming Juniors… Sirro "the future Kangaroo" wouldn't make the starting team in most NRL sides, yet he's a $500k starter in our pack....

Wow, things have really hit the fan and no wonder. I can see no reason at all to persist with Taylor. He's hampering the young players' development and impeding the potential of the squad. There is no light what so ever at the end of the tunnel and he has to go…..but is it possible?

Ok, we all want to see the back of Taylor for the following reasons;

1\. Poor and ineffective game plans
2\. Inability to motivate players
3\. Lack of leadership
4\. Failure to bring players to account for poor performance
5\. Ludicrous team selections and use of the bench
6\. Playing favorites
7\. Lame post game addresses
8\. Failure to acknowledge and address problems with team structures

Have I forgotten anything?

Things are a complete and utter shambles after 18 months of his coaching. We definitely need a new coach but is it possible to get one that is a proper, qualified, no nonsense style leader? What will it cost us financially to punt Taylor and is it possible to lure Toovey or Cleary to the basket case that is the Wests Tigers? Surely, the club must make moves if there are no player sackings and we get pasted by Souths.

And by the way, who would you drop from the team? I'd start with two of the untouchables, Brooks and Sironen, followed by Rankin and Millone.

Taylor has lost the players …...
Is anyone seriously surprised ?

When all hell broke loose last year with the Farah stuff, it became a coach vs Farah issue that a lot of people didn't understand the overall impact that incident would have.
Whoevers fault it was, which ever side you sat on or supported - the real issue or concern was - the way the situation was handled and managed. It was poor and exposed the coach as completely lacking the management skills needed to run a club.

The truth is, JT had lost a lot of support when he began to axe club legends that were involved with the team, coaching staff that had enormous respect from the current players and the basic manner in which he addressed players and staff.

Fast forward to the Farah incident, the line in the sand stance and then the embarrassing backflip..... Very little respect was in left, if any.
It was never said publically but the fact that players were delaying resigning was a very clear message, regardless of how much some people want to deny it or debate their worth etc
Fast forward again to the moment the ceo overrides the coach and again, we have less and less support for the coach being shown by the club, in their actions

Today, yes the players dropped the ball, showed no fight whatsoever, embarrassed themselves ..... But to see the coach at half time presenting himself to the team by starring at the floor, not knowing what to say or do.....showed everyone what some of us always knew. What could he say that the players would listen to or respond to.
Nothing

Absolutely nothing

Rankin to 7 is worth a crack if he's really that needed for his goal kicking. I'd prefer to see Littlejohn as I don't consider goal kicking to be our main concern at the moment. Hunger and ability is.

How about this is complete trash and unless you blokes lift your game some of you won't be playing next week.

The result wasn't that much of a surprise for me. I have watched nearly all the Tigers games since their inception and we have ALWAYS struggled with teams who have a large mobile pack.

They continually get a roll on up the middle, dominate the ruck, get second phase play and basically expose our soft underbelly. In the past the Roosters, Brisbane, Manly etc have all done this to us.

It's not exactly panic stations yet for me. Hopefully we get some players back and make a couple of changes and lets see how we go.

That comment is way too sensible and reasoned, Coopy. You don't seem to have any bitter vendettas against a player or coach. You don't even have the guts to blame someone for the position that we're in.

Obviously you know who to blame and who has to be sacked or dropped or flogged publicly but you've taken three sentences of space on this forum and not named them!

How are things going to improve for our team if Taylor and selectors don't get some insights into fixing the problem from forum posters like you? You've exposed the soft underbelly of this forum, Coopy. I demand magpiecol come over and sort you out before you think of producing such rubbish again!

The players gave up on taylor tonight. It was a truly spineless performance. To see the coach staring at the ground at halftime was mystifying body language. Said it all really.

Part of me feels sorry for Taylor. SOme of these players are frauds. However the other half is laughing at him because he is slecting them. Essentially digging his own grave. His special Malone was responsible for about 4-5 tries down that edge of the field.

Anyway, an embarrassing night to be a fan. If Taylor makes some changes I would support him more. However if he roll out Milone, Lovett and co next week well he can keep all the way to centrelink for all i care.

Not to mention Milone standing infront of Lawerance forna forard pass on a normal backline movement.

Rankin is also out of position and guess what we were carved up again down that side.

I don't feel sorry for Taylor, you could see the team werent motivated from kick off for a game the Raiders were always going to be pumped up for. That is Taylors role to motovate the team. At halftime seeing him sitting down hunched over looking at the ground whilst sandercock was adressing said it all for me. Taylor has lost the team and isnt pulling the strings anymore. His time is up.

I too am so disappointed in how we are playing this season, (and the one before and the one before that) :smiling_imp:
is it the players,
is it the coach,( is it that we are uncoachable)
is it the players running the show, someone is not listening, surely we aren't this bad.

Yesterday I was hopeful that we would turn the corner soon, we always do well down in Canberra, but last night - that score is simply ATROCIOUS  and embarrassing

We have been quite terrible in defence for about 5 years now, is that how long David Kidwell has been the "defensive" coach, anyway after this extremely poor showing SOMEONE HAS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE :bash

Agree it starts at board level and that coaching and player changes need to be made urgently. But our hands are tied unfortunately with some selections due to cap. I'd like to punt half the team.

At the moment a win doesn't look like being in our vocabulary. I just think this team for all its faults, inexperience whatever has topped out in terms of efforts and abilities. We've capitulated against titans then lose rest up until yesterday by 8, 8, 2, 1\. Mentally we've folded and can't keep in the fight and it showed against raiders.

Tigress, you don't have to look far to see who is accountable…the overhyped, overpriced and overrated players that the club sends out to play football and represent this club...that's as far as I will look...its obvious to me that they all think they are NRL stars on big money to be there, problem is,they have to EARN the right to be called NRL stars, inept performances from players this club has supported and stuck by for very little return..

Realistically I don't think much can or will change… Possibly a few more nrl debutante... Not that that will do much imo.
Not much future at this club that I can see.
I keep reading elsewhere players tanking... Says a lot about THEM if true

I must admit that if any player tanked then they should be booted out of the club as fast as our coach. They are not needed we need players who dont give up regardless of the score

I was willing to accept Taylor because our squad is simply not up to nrl standard but after tonight and his response he should be shown the door immediately .to say the raiders were just too big and strong tells me he has put the cue back into the rack …what will the good sides do to us ? We look like the Wests sides of the late 90 s but as bad as they were ,they always tried their guts out but were simply outclassed .
We must not sign another rookie coach .farah has to go and it's not because of his form .we need 4 big name first graders to steer these young guys around the park .malone is not a first grader and he showed tonight just how much he isn't .the Tigers losing used to pee me off big time ,but with the current squad I get over a loss very quickly because I do not expect a win .ill never lose faith in the club I follow but until we sign a fairy god father who can pay these third party agreements we will conti ie to struggle .we are so far away from the top squads and that's the problem ...

Taylor has been like a man on trial for murder, and tonight he was found guilty and sentenced to the electric chair. It's all over for him, whatever wins we fluke will just be like appeals and stays of execution. He's gone, the only thing that's left for him to do is decide on what he wants for his last meal.

Pizza and Beer? 😛ray:

JT has to go ,that's simple .so does Farah and not because of his form .he simply takes up too much of the cap .replacing JT will not change much whilst we have the same squad .we need two good centres ,we have plenty of wingers to cover.two good props and two good back rowers .we can't blame out halves when the engine room cannot win the ruck .please do not sign a rookie coach .we need somebody who will attract some nrl standard players

The first bloke out the door IMO is Kidwell.

But there would be a procession of others following, i can assure you.
