Jason Taylor ...THREAD...

We're really proud of what we have been able to achieve on and off the field over the past six months and how we have been able to establish and buy into all these standards, so to then go out last night and not achieve any of those standards was nothing other than disappointing and unacceptable."

Can someone tell me what we have achieved on or off the field in the last 6 months that we should be proud of ?

Same old same old,Taylors in the hot seat….he has been since he started.....so should the overhyped, overrated wannabe NRL player's....that seem to get chance, after chance, after chance...its about time Pascoe was in the hot seat with O'Neil, they should all be on notice ........but thats just me....I could be wrong........

I'd say a majority would agree with you TT.

Who said it is going to be a new coach? It will take us another 6 months with a worldwide search to estsblish the best man for the job, hah! If payton was a better option then why sack him in the first place, chances are we will have a caretaker looking after the team for the remainder of the year. I can't believe the players attitudes towards this club, i think they are holding the club to ransom with their contacts. I don't believe jason has done anything wrong other then try and prepare the team for future success, yet the players and fans werent content with the team going back to school. Instant success is all the fans want. To be able to play there own way is all the players want. A team that wants to buy in to the structures and learn the riggours of first grade week in week out is what the coaching staff want. If payten can motivate this group well great. But let me finish in saying, it's not jason out there deciding to run the ball on the 4th or 5th tackle and leaving only 1 other kicking option available for the last. It's not jason out there along side another jason dropping off tackles on after the other. The simple fact is the team is not up to it. It's man against boys. We are still in a rebuilding phase like it or not and are in no different position to the Knights. Taylorball as was affectionately named was breaking down the game to a simple format of forwards doing the forwards work and the team working together in defence. Personally that lesson should have continued for the remainder of the year. Bye jason, take robbie with you and good luck to the next coach that is in control of this overpaid, overhyped, uncommited, underprepared mob.

Welcome to the forum.

Taylor's support would increase on this forum if he axed a few of the under performing players.

Carry on as per program and he deserves little sympathy or latitude with his job.

Yeah… I actually LOLed at that bit

Pascoe might be right.

They might have achieved plenty of off field KPI's in the last 6 months.

However if results are terrible fans are not going to care and nor are the media.

Thanks, took a while, had to register 3 separate times but never received the activation confirmation email.
Hence the name, I ran out of options for a username, because I couldn't reuse the previous ones I registered with.
Anyway, I've been viewing the site for a number of years now, and finally I decided to join the discussion.

OK so the Robbie Farah thread got closed after 332 pages. But I wanted to revisit the topic here - people were asking what happens if JT demotes Farah at the start of 2016 and we start winning, or selects him and we are losing.

Fast forward and Farah's injury makes the call on behalf of the coach, and we are 2/3 without him, 0/5 with him.

Thoughts?

Justin Pascoe has said today that Jason Taylor will remain the coach until at least the end of 2016 :frowning:

Pascoe is sending mixed messages. On the one hand he seems to be imposing a 5 day deadline to turn out fortunes around and almost in the next breath he says JT is safe til the end of his contract in 2017\. He also says no discussions have been had with anyone about a change of coach. For what it's worth, I believe the 5 day ultimatum has been imposed. If we are competitive against the Bunnies-win or lose-JT will be safe for another week anyway. If it's another thrashing-gone! However nothing at all will be done to punish players who do not deliver

A farce of an off-season with the Farah debacle topped off by losing 6 in a row. If that is something to be proud of then I think the club needs a new direction.

not too big of an issue

give him the year, not much advantage ousting him now. we can look for a replacement and take our time in doing so - no need to rush it. give the new coach the whole preseason to try sort us out

Likewise, genuinely laughed.
What a ridiculous comment.

There is social media chatter that Taylor's last day will be on Tuesday. I don't believe it, but it's there.

yeah it wouldnt make sense for him to be finished up on the day he names the team for next week. i think taylor will be coach until the end of season, with the club searching for a suitable (and ofcourse cheap) replacement in the meantime.

so there we have it ladies and gents, hard evidence, direct quote from the head cheese that mediocrity is acceptable at weststigers. Loose 5 games in a row and we are going ok, thanks buddy, dont worry about winning, the rots all the way at the top i say.

Dingo, we have had a terrible team since 2011 and we've had three coaches. The issue isn't the coach. It's petulance, it's white anting. The team isn't set up to be able to handle any kind of leadership. They all think they know better. The club needs a clean out of the playing roster (and David Kidwell).

Being that I am in a position right now where I was elevated to a leadership position at my company and now have to lead peers who don't want to be led, I sympathise with the Tigers administration. I don't think there's anything for it aside from:

1) Someone they respect absolutely hammering them until they stop being idiots
2) Firing them
