Jason Taylor ...THREAD...

Seriously sick of the crap that supposedly justifies the disaster that is jt and the tigers. Does Pascoe think his hollow statement means a damn thing to the supporters? Words mean nothing, what is needed is action.

Remember guys 900k is not what they valued his contract. 900k is a due to a backloaded payment. His average salary per year is probably more around the 750k mark, which 4 years ago was probably on the mark.

The toxic effect was here long before Jt arrived.
Farah is the toxic component.

Where is the proof ? Can you tell that from watching them play or is it something you just made up ?

Paul Gallen even said a couple of years ago that Farah is a sook , no one will room with him in Origin camp .
I've even spoke to current NRL players who all say that Farah isn't very well respected amongst the NRL playing community ..

So from this we are supposed to believe that Robbie is toxic and he impacts the club spirit and pride ? I'm not buying it.

I am definitely not a Robbie fan. I think he is overpaid and he isn't playing anywhere near the level that we need him to play at but I don't believe that Robbie is toxic at all. I think he has been our best playmaker and one of our best defenders this season.

He is self interested. I note the board leaks seem to have stopped, but there still seem to be leaks in our playing group

In the Members newsletters Pascoe encourages fans and members to email him…Well this morning, as a member for over 7 years, I took his offer up....a one page unemotional email was sent to him....the key message was we the fans deserve an apology for Saturday and the NRL side needs to adopt an accountability policy.....I know nothing will come of it...but feel better for doing it.

Some have asked where the replacements would come from if players are axed. I remember when Tommy Ridiculous was coaching the Magpies he threatened to wield the axe for poor performances and was asked by a journalist where he would find replacements. He said he didn't care if he had to go down to the local park and grab a few blokes to play. Maybe we should have the same attitude so players don't think they are safe from the axe, after all we do have a top 25, so there are 8 players who could be brought in without affecting the 2nd tier cap.

I still look forward to the day when playing for our State Cup side isn't a matter of shame. I should live so long.

OK so the Robbie Farah thread got closed after 332 pages. But I wanted to revisit the topic here - people were asking what happens if JT demotes Farah at the start of 2016 and we start winning, or selects him and we are losing.

Fast forward and Farah's injury makes the call on behalf of the coach, and we are 2/3 without him, 0/5 with him.

Thoughts?

Yeah, it's all Farah's fault nobody else in the team wants to tackle anybody. :deadhorse:

Didn't say it was Farah's fault, just curious to see what people thought because JT clearly wanted to move Farah on and do something different with the team, he got over-ruled, and we are currently up you-know-what creek.

So then the question becomes, exactly what control does the head coach have right now if there is such external pressure to select certain players.

JT is way out of his depth… The Farah debacle was the beginning of the end

I honestly think Ballins delay to his comeback will bring JT down

If Ballin's back say Rd 5 , he has full match fitness with 3 games in NSW Cup and would be right for a bench start

I'm not saying Ballin is the saviour , but if the Ballin comes back and the WT's win ….. you connect the dots

The more I read this, the more I see it as Pascoe outsmarting the players. He's pretty much saying "you dogged it under Potter, and if you think you're going to do it again and get the same result, think again".

Certainly reads like it .
But Pascoe needs to come out and explain to everyone why the club is hell bent on having 50% of local juniors in the squad when we all know that there's better options bumming around in reggies .

He's confirmed that there is no quota.

Where ???

And you have had this close association with Robbie for how long now. ??
It must be enlightening to have access to the innermost thoughts of Robbies mind, please share with us any new snippets that Robbie passes on to you in the future
As for the leaks attributed to the players.
Players don't have to leak anything !! For reasons that i won't go into.
But if you read posts in here you will know what I'm talking about

BTW, can you tell me even one professional Sportsman who doesn't have a fair share of self interest in his make-up, they are pretty thin on the ground.
It's part of being competitive.

Don't know any other club in the NRL that have a prop as a marquee player. Woods is a good prop but as Wayne Bennett states you can only pay props so much.

You are kidding, right?

Dogs
Cowboys
Sharks
Souths

Basically all the teams that have representative props.

There is a massive difference between a representative prop and a marquee player. You need quality props. Paying them as marquee players unless they really are is plain stupid.

Woods is probably one of the top 5-10 props in the game. That doesn't though make him a marquee player.

Anyway we don't know how much he is paid. If he is being paid fairly it's not an issue.

Impressed with Rowdy's frank analysis of the Raiders debacle. This bloke is a class act. Should be our sole captain when big Aaron isn't there. Have a feeling we go a lot better against Souths after Pascoe's 5-day rocket. Whether we can do well enough to win, who knows?

I predict that Taylor will be gone straight after the South's game, 2 week break.
When the CEO gives the coach their full support you know that it's a done deal, we've heard this so many times, then the next thing you fear the coach is gone,

Well if you are only going by which players are claiming the marquee allowance from the NRL, then we don't know for sure which players at any club are the marquee ones.

But assuming it's the top-paid players, you are trying to tell me that current rep props are not top earners at their respective clubs? James Graham, Klemmer, Matt Scott, Tamou, Fifita, Sam Burgess all cheapies?
