Jason Taylor ...THREAD...

I predict that Taylor will be gone straight after the South's game, 2 week break.
When the CEO gives the coach their full support you know that it's a done deal, we've heard this so many times, then the next thing you fear the coach is gone,

Except that it is apparent that the problem (at least in the Canberra game) was player attitude and not coaching. Sacking Taylor achieves nothing except setting the clock back yet again.

A quote from Brad Fittler.
"….....Fittler said the Tigers' problems stem from the players, not the coach. "I think there were for or five tries scored from within five or six metres (of the tryline)," Fittler said. "It doesn't show much commitment. "It is not Jason's fault. "They were not having a go there. It was just awful."

NT. I apologise for the negative point that I mistakenly gave you on this post is there any way that I van change that for you, I tried to change it to a positive , but it wouldn't do that.

Cheers

I don't think so. As I said earlier in the thread, if we sack Taylor before the KPIs in his contract come in to play, then we will be stuck with paying his contact for the remainder of this year and next. If we wait and at the end of the season he hasn't met his KPIs then we can part ways without a financial penalty. The last thing this club needs is to be once again paying the wages of 2 coaches. This season is gone. A new coach will have buckleys of making any significant changes - season's end seems sensible to me.
But hey, everyone has an opinion. (This is of course assuming Tiger Torch is correct about KPIs being a part of Taylor's contract and I have no reason to doubt it).

Certainly reads like it .
But Pascoe needs to come out and explain to everyone why the club is hell bent on having 50% of local juniors in the squad when we all know that there's better options bumming around in reggies .

He's confirmed that there is no quota.

Where ???

Well that just puts it all back on Taylor then for poor team selections, why back him when he is making such poor decisions. :brick:

Because the cap doesn't allow you to drop half a dozen players. It's why you have a 25 man squad.

There are way better options than Milone, Buchanan, Lovett, Rankin plus options to drop our backrowers and halves in the top 25 squad.

JT is gorrnnneee . Purely on results . The rest dosent really matter

I actually think that this is what is required however the question is when is he gone. Just say it's at the end of next year then can the team come good prior to that point.

A new coach is not gonna fix the problem. The problem has already got rid of two coaches. If I were Taylor I'd play the same 17 on Thursday just so they can show the board (and the general public who don't have foxtel) why they should be signed on for next season. The vast majority wouldn't have any takers if they were put on the open market as was seen with 'poor' old Wobbie last season.

Really feel for JT.. Never seen a coach closer to crying in a press conference.. At the NSW cup game people in the crowd were giving it to him as he walked around the field

Should advertise the coaching job

If u don't value your coaching career and want 18month employment coaching with a weak organisation. Apply within

Bring on next coach victim same players new coach

We are a fine club, with outstanding young talent mixed with some very good experienced players. A prospective coach would view the club as a blank canvass just like Tim Sheens did years ago. In fact, I hope one of his protégés takes over as coach.

How are we a fine club? Name one thing the club has done in the last ten years to improve itself?

If it was not for 2005 I think the Tigers would of been the worst performing league club in the last 20 years!

I'm not entirely sure, but I reckon we would go close to being the worst performers anyway.

Encouraging that we went and watched a day after getting hammered.

If he makes a few changes people on here I think will get behind him.

With Warriors getting flogged in Melbourne tonight there may be more than one option opening up for Cleary

Maybe we can form a partnership with a media organisation and create reality show to select the next coach, or maybe one of Marina Go's magazines can have a competition wher the winner gets appointed coach

Hmm Ivan Cleary, which basket-case team of talented inconsistent under-performing overpaid disappointments do you want to coach next year?
