goldcoasttiger do you even like the tigers? You have already written them off for next year and you seem to do nothing but bag them. You seem to find good things to say about every team except your own. I don't get it.

He does, its just the thought of seeing them succeed under JT makes him nauseous. As it does for a few posters.

Succeed

That's your best one yet

Turnbull was a blusterer the first time and more so the second time - a flat balloon he is. Now on topic, Robbie's career impresses me more, I remember Taylor playing for maggies, good for sure but not brilliant. It was the goal kicking he was famous for. Farah carried the true Tiger colours when he reciprocated to Antony Watts.

If you think JT was only famous for goal kicking - you were smoking dope and not watching games at that time. Talking about his Wests career is like talking about Thurston's Bulldog career.

JT was a very astute half - always thinking, real good kicking game and a good defender. Not the fastest but made up for that by out thinking the opposition. Tough as teak and hardly ever missed a game. His goal kicking to my mind was a bonus - and he was brilliant at that.

Don't talk to me about playing for Australia - some of our greatest players never played for our country. Methinks Farah would not have played for Australia either if Sheens wasn't the coach.

Don't let your love for Farah or hatred for JT - get in the way of intelligent comment BBF.

This is a stupid thread that should be closed down anyway.

Agree with you 100%.
JT was tough as they come and was **far from average**.
No matter how many hits he copped when kicking he would just get back up.
There was no protecting the kicker rules back then.

He was a pretty average player from my recollection but an above average goal kicker.
Much like El Masri was an ordinary winger but got a few rep games thanks to his kicking.

How many good things were you thinking about that rabble last Sunday.
That's what we mostly revert to , and have for years. If you are happy with that. Well don't worry , until we get a genuine coach we'l see plenty more games like that.
But no, let's close our eyes and fantasise about our "Structure "and our "great defence".

Our defence is about as structured as Beirute on a bad day. :astonished:

How would you know, that hasn't happened yet, and isn't likely to until we get a coach.

Well, as much as you try to brush it off, we exceeded expectations this yr.

Well let's hope we get somewhere near the same next year.

Before Sunday's game I was poop scared of what the result could be and was concerned it being a sell out crowd for a big let down. Everyone had goodwill because the Robbie episode was over. The previous round encounter these two was similar but this was for a final's berth. Forget a comparison between these two's playing careers but consider whose reputation came out better after Sunday. Sad to say for the Club that has true believers.

I expected both Souths and the Roosters to be higher up, , but I was wrong, I just don't think that they will hang around there for long, their clubs dont accept failure to well.
And both Coaches won't be letting it go on for too long
Souths should be better, I hear they've picked up a top line Hooker for next week, Cheap too.

Souths don't accept failure? Except between 1990 and 2011 when they picked up half a dozen wooden spoons

Absolute gold hey. Souffs don't acceot failure!!! Heard it all now.
Clutching at straws by signing a dud hooker that nobody else. wants. Bottom feeders again next year.

1990, What about 1980s , or 1970s.
I'm talking about since Madge arrived.
Yes they've had some bad years, along with a premiership, but they are still likely to pull back ahead of a lot of teams next season. Farah will love having some big fast forwards around him, it'll be a whole new experience for him

Oh! don't worry GCT - Farah will be able to slow those big fast forwards down to a walk.
He is an expert at it.

By the way - I'd say winning 1 premiership in 43 years is accepting mediocrity. Oh! but then again RL has been I the doldrums for 42 years because the League is only going well when Souffs are going well so I am told.

Is Segeyaro coming back to Aus?

I said a TOP hooker, sorry.

Do we need a hooker, we have Liddell and ballin ( regardless of injury) his on the roster till his not?

After watching Ennis last weekend do absolutely nothing as DH I would never knock Farah's game first or ever compare them. ( But Ennis did do an illegal shoulder charge on a player without the ball - and remarkably it was not picked up.) Now getting on topic slightly.

Farah did slow opposition forwards down to a walk at first tackler and probably prevented passes as well until others assisted. And does dozens of times each game. I only watched Jason in early games at Maggies but was pleased that a maggie made it big time. Maybe he is excellent at strategy but not so well as getting the guys doing it???

And what have we done in the entire time that we have existed?
One GF win And back to the cellar straight after that. And if you think that Taylor will improve our posioion next year good luck
Just for your info, I'm not a Souths supporter anyway, but I do hope Robbie goes well there. But worry about us if we are relying on a Crock and another untried junior, it worked well with our last talked up star. It took about Three games for people to realise that he was a door mat in defence . Hope this ones better.

Your digs at Ballin are hilarious ''HE TOOK ROBBIE'S JERB''

As for having to rely on him and an untried junior, that day was going to come regardless once Farah retired anyway, so its a pointless argument.

Was he the DF who,ran on for a Cameo in one ot the games earlier, I thought that he was just a blow in from the NSW cup. At least he didn't dirty his jersey in those precious few minutes that he's had for this club.
And, what is Robbies JERB. , I didn't know he had one. What colour is it.

I can't decipher incorrect quoting. Another cheap shot at Ballin by the looks though. You must really hate him.

How would I hate him, I wouldn't even recognise him if I Fell over him.
When he played I only knew him by the clean jumper,

Jason Taylor was ever only a goal kicker. He couldn't tackle very well and didn't like being tackled hence offloaded the ball most of the time. He had some good games for Wests and Norths when the forwards were going well but in no way would he ever be considered a state of origin standard half back … I'm sure Warren Ryan would agree with that summation ... I think the wok did something similiar to Taylor as Taylor did to Farah ... Just not as extreme.

Taylor left wests. Ryan didn't punt him.

He had no choice …. Sorry the choice was play first grade at Norths or stay in Reserve Grade at Wests ... Which is where he played for a lot of his final year.
