Big lump of a lad who can hit. I wish they’d skill him up and use him in the back row rotation.

You could having him on the bench and play a stint at 2nd row. Once back to full fitness, he’ll be next picked on the wing (behind Maka or Turuva). If he comes back via State Cup, I’d like to see Skelton tried at right centre.

He is a good player, deserves to be playing 1st grade but the young kid looks ready for first grade - bumped edwards offf. his young body may need to grow into a season player. So Skelton could still play a fair bit FG this year.

Don’t get me wrong but I think some on here are getting carried away about bringing kids into the team , they my look ready but the NRL can find out kids , let them work there way throw the nsw cup and if there is injury’s then blood them .

Agree & the kids are looking good against kids.
Let them get going weekly at Cup level first.

Isn't 300k now about minimum wage for first grade? If he can stay injury free and improves defence like most of the team he's a good keep

I like the way he came out to play, no stone kicking in the wing, give me the ball and let me rip. Kickoff, attacking raids, he played like someone who wants to be there. Attitude A+.

I think Benji gave Luke first dibs cos he trained the house down in the off season just like said he would reward hard work and i think Jeral will rise to the occasion and fight his way back

$140k is min wage for a top 30 player.

I think anything under $300k he is definitely worth it. At 300-350 maybe but perhaps first look if there is an up an comer who could fill his role at a lower price and over 350 then no.

Hopefully we can get him to stay for 300k, but I reckon we need to go as high as 350k if it means keeping him.
He’s unique that he is big, tall and fast, but also keeps himself in good condition, has good speed off the mark and does not turn like a truck.
His only downfalls are he is a bit injury prone and he is a bit suspect with his defensive reads, but I think good coaching and focus can fix up his defensive reads.

Me too.
Really strange hom being left out for a kid who has shown to have handling issues and has signed with another club. Could only be down to Skelton maybe not showing enough commitment in pre season.

Barring injuries, Skelton has shown he is in our top three wingers (with Turuva and Makasini). If Makasini is playing centre then I'd have Skelton alongside him over Luke. Almost a no-brainer.
