Jersey Flegg Team List: Rd 13

Lost 24-20
The Souths lock Tallis Duncan looks a future star.

When Wests got on top late in first half they were sledging Duncan, accusing him of going missing.

He didn’t start the second half but when he was reintroduced into the game the momentum immediately shifted. He crashed over for a strong try from ten metres out and led the rabbits to victory.

Apparently he’s one Souths managed to pinch off the Roosters.

Played in Wests juniors in the 1960s when it was largely based in the inner west. Enfield Federals were always a gun side. It was great seeing the blokes you played with and against come through the juniors up to Presidents Cup and then in to third grade. One of my mates was a gun little fullback in our side. One of thje Wests officvials came up to him one day and said they wanted to give him a run in Presidents Cup. My mate replied "no thanks, I'm a Balmain supporter". True story and he never did plays reps for Balmain.

Hi coivtny
I played at Enfield Federals through the 80s and 90s and into presidents cup, march every year Enfield federals has a reunion for all past players, a lot of great players from the junior club, Hey, Pickup, Serdaris, Haumono, El Masri, Farah, Brett Clarke, Jason Williams just a few if you know of any past players a great catch up.

The Feds were a great club Garrry although I hated them when I played them. It was a shame when they disbanded a few years ago but I know they're back and playing in the Canterbury junior league I think. Their best player from my year was Neville Sinclair. If he played we'd lose but we'd win if he didn't. He went on to play first grade for Wests.
The other guy I remember was Tony Ford. He was a bit older than me but was the best running fullback I'd ever seen when he came into grade with Wests. A few coathangers slowed him down by the time he got to firsts.
The year we signed John Dorahy, Tony played the opening game of the year against Balmain at Lidcombe. We beat them 62 - 5 that day with Tony scoring 23 points from a try and 10 goals. Glen Capelin scored the only Balmain try, the last try of the game. After about 3 games Dorahy came into first grade and that was the end of Ton'y first grade career.
