Jersey Flegg Team List: Round 3 v Raiders

It would have been good for him to just get a few games under his belt, after being out for so long. To come up with those impressive plays on the weekend, he must have Sheensy and co very happy with his start to the year.
We need to get him under contract. He's light years ahead of the likes of O'Kane, Saukuru, and even Tumeth. Given our lack of depth he could even play first grade towards the end of this season

Agreed. It was surprising that he wasn't on any squad list originally. Glad he has come back with us!

He has been injured for a while mate. No need to rush things. If he stays injury free, he will be playing cup before the end of the year.

I'm not saying chuck him in NRL now, but he's the number one back row prospect at the club outside the top 30. With Kelma going and Blore always injured he's in with a shot if he can stay fit and keep his performance levels up.

But he should definitely be on a top 30 deal for the next 2 years. We can't afford to lose talent in a position we're so desperate in. The long cut out ball to the winger was something that even Brooks and Laurie haven't been able to execute in the NRL.

Given we have zero quality in the back row in NSW Cup there are two openings there for him to take. There's no point in holding him back if he's capable of playing at a higher level. I'd be surprised if he's not playing cup by round 10 at the latest.

The Sharks must have an excellent scouting system. The talent put together by that club is very good.
The sharks scour Australia and NZ for players, and bring them to the club at a young age. They don't have many local juniors, so they aggressively recruit from all over the place to get the best players they can.

We should be doing this too. It's a bit too slack to simply 'focus on locals'. Sure we would want a majority of our juniors to ideally be locals, but if we can recruit an elite junior talent from a country town or NZ then we should be doing that.
