Jersey Talk - Mega Thread

Never been keen on purchasing the jerseys, but the white one has me interested.

For those who have purchased it, what is sizing like? I'm normally a Large for a baggy/loose fit for regular clothing, would this be the same?
@innsaneink posted a good reference pic
Looks looser fit than the usual tighter fit jerseys of recent years.

I think you'd be safe with an L.

I'm keen to suss the gear when it hits stores.

For those wondering about sizing with the Canterbury Wests Tigers jerseys, you’ll comfortably go back down a size from the Steedens.
Below are three mediums. ISC, Steeden and a fresh CCC. Even in my terrible photo you can see they’re significantly roomier

They actually looked pretty good.

Never knew Des Hasler played for Wests until now. Googled him, and after 28 minutes on the Dress Hassler wiki, made my way to his page and saw he played his final year with them in '97. Super League's only season.

It's turned into quite an interesting thread with all the knowledge being shared! 😊
There's some horrible examples of Wests debutants who made it big at other clubs, esp. in the 80s.

Garry Jack debuted for Wests, so did Terry Lamb, Scott Gale, Mick Neil. A fair few actually in the early 80s defected to Balmain. Jason Taylor had a decent stint at Wests before Norths. Jamie Ainscough, Jim Dymock, Noel Goldthorpe all started at Wests.

I remember Ross Conlon came from Wests too.

Unfortunately mate it traces back to the old Balmain vs Wests rubbish that has plagued us since inception.
Fighting for dominance by old club colour/animal emblem, supposedly older wiser men bickering over minor detail is so silly.
Yeh well, I guess supposedly older wiser men from the Balmain side of our forced marriage don't have any need to bicker about club colours/animal emblems anymore as you have got a modern, fresh, clean jersey that represents the Tiger perfectly as noted by nearly every poster on here.

The only pointer to Western Suburbs Magpies is 3 miniature Magpies which you can't even see if you are more than 20 ft. away.

Our new fans probably won't ever notice the Magpies, as they know nothing about the Magpies or Western Suburbs.
Or, if they do see it, they'll wonder what the hell the Magpies are on the jersey for and why on earth are we called WESTS Tigers.

I guess this wouldn't be such a problem to thousands of Wests Magpie followers if it wasn't for the fact that Wests Magpies own 90% of our JV but only have a miniscule amount of representation on the jersey.

A couple of days ago a poster on here suggested the Tiger emblem on the jersey should be larger. That was followed by a number of up votes in agreement.

However, when I suggested the Magpie could also be larger, I was put down for it and told I had a mental problem amongst other things.

And that RHS is the way it's been since I joined in 2019 for having what's obviously regarded by nearly everyone on here as temerity in sticking up for the Magpies on a site heavily dominated by Balmain people.

And it just aint fair.

Garry Jack was my favourite player as a kid! Never knew he came from Wests either.

For any disgruntled former Wests supporters, you have to concede the Wests Tigers have rather admirably carried on this long standing Wests tradition of players debuting with the club to then go on to stellar careers elsewhere! 🤣
