Jesse Parahi omitted from State Cup Side

Kevin Ryan.
An oldie but a goodie with a pretty successful life in many fields, not only union and league.

Okay so there has been a **few** successful union –> league forward converts.

No need to make a fool out of me though

Honestly I don't see the point in wasting money and time on long shot "maybe's" when we have a depth issue as it is. Good luck to the bloke, but maybe we can now concentrate on bringing someone through who can challenge for a top grade spot and add to the overall quality of our squad.

Well it looks like the Aussies are out of medal contention now…..so his choice to go back to his routes has backfired a tad.

I saw next to nothing, but reading media updates, he was frequently mentioned. Mainly Parahi missed a tackle, Parahi failed to ground the ball. Sounds like the tigers may have dodged a bullet

I actually thought he looked ok, runs hard and has a bit of pace for a big guy. I reckon with a good off season he would have offered more than Lovett.

He got to go to Rio, probably having a ball right about now. He can proudly say he was an Olympian for the rest for his life.
Hope he gives league another go, he did show promise

A very very small tad. He got to go to an Olympics in Rio, marched in an opening ceremony and have an experience few get to have. Compared a year of getting splinters on the reserve grade bench I think he'd be pretty content. He has though missed the time to spend some quality time with Robbie… (Just a throwaway line!)

He's got a good pass and an excellent motor , maybe he could play DH. Lol , everyone else's name has been mentioned so I thought I'd chuck Jesse's in as well.
Geez you have to be fit to play 7s. I played a bit. Constantly sucking in the big ones.

i doubt he regrets his decision at all. sure he would have loved to got a medal but the experience itself would be amazing.

he was worth a shot for league and by all reports was extremely impressive in training. it seems his body just couldnt handle the combat that is league.

Olympics or NSW Cup? He's made a solid choice, had an experience of a lifetime and now has a week and a bit to use his quota of 40 condoms in the Olympics village.

Hmmmm, State cup in front off 100 people week in, week out, or get a taxpayer funded trip to Rio, participate in the Olympics and chase all the Brazilian tail he can.

Yep, definitely made the wrong choice.

It's a great life the 7s. See the world make a lot of new friends along the way. Most of everything is covered for you by the ARU. But you have to be extremely athletic fit and it's about speed and using aerobic energy. Its very tough and you can't afford to make any mistakes in defence as you have no one there to cover for you while you are trying to get some air into your lungs. The Aussie 7s were very disappointing at the games. Seeded 4th and came 8th. Most likely now a clean out of the squad. Good memories, experience for Jesse will probably see him back in one of the bigger codes which I think he is more suited for
