How hard is it your told your going to Qld keep your head down for 14days don't do anything stupid and your going to get paid as well. You can see where WT'S and Madges problems are the players just can't simple instructions on or off the field.

Being stuck in a hotel room without fresh air is not something that is easy for some people.

I don't mind my own company but for 14 days, locked in a room alone without even being able to open the door for fresh air?

I'd be somewhat irritable.

It's funny, I am struggling with the lockdown at the moment, but my problem is not getting time to myself. The house at present always has people in it and I am a person that needs my own time and space.

To me and you it seems simple. I reckon I could handle it. For others I’m sure it’s pretty hard. One of my staff members just had a breakdown, literally fallen apart this morning. She’s broken. Because she’s wearing a mask that gave her a pimple. She just couldn’t fight her anxiety anymore. We aren’t even in lockdown out here. I can’t explain it. It makes no sense. I have no answers. I can only support her.

I agree Tigers need physically and physiologically stronger players across the board. I honestly think we are going about change in a methodical way but it hurts to see the scoreboard in the short term.

I wish Jimmy well with his uphill battle.

I walk an hour every day - the past week I've been going twice just to get out of the house more. Tomorrow I think I'll go for a bike ride instead.

I'd love to be able to take the boat out...

It’s insanity is what it is. Honestly what harm could going out in the fresh air on your own private balcony do? The world’s gone bloody mad!

I've been getting on the bike a bit, but even then every time I go my daughter wants to go as well. I shouldn't complain about her wanting to come but am longing for some time alone lol

Just as a side note , there’s no way on earth qld government would kick out the NRL . For starters it would basically be career suicide . And secondly , any chance of ever hosting a grand final or things like magic round , the all stars game etc . And say what you will those things cause a huge money injection when they’re on.
Especially with the amount of money the state is about to bleed on olympics infrastructure in the next 10 years .

Qld government has offered the nrl 20mill to host the final series

The Premier will over ride Dr Jeannette Young, if it means hosting the NRL finals.

Those QLD sub-premier pollies are like barking dogs on a leash, just waiting to have a go, get their moment in the national sun. The deputy Steven Miles is a weirdo. It's like watching a murder of Sir Johs.

I’d like to think this but the rhetoric coming from the chief doctor in the recent past is concerning…for her to basically say “she’s close to kicking the NRL out” (Jul 23rd) boggles my mind.

I don't know if the Health Minister has the power / clout to make that kind of move. She can moan all she likes, and there's every chance she doesn't like the NRL anyway.

Imagine if the QLD Govt did dismiss the NRL competition over a few girls during Origin and a fellow walking out onto a balcony. Don't get me wrong the Origin guys were exceptionally foolish and deserved to be heavily sanctioned for not being able to manage holding off having a root (and cheating too I think, they both have girlfriends). The Dragons guys also very foolish but at the very least that was in NSW and Shellharbour is not a COVID hotzone.

But the balcony? I don't get it. And yeah I know those are rules, sometimes rules are stupid. To tape down the balcony doors... they aren't international travellers, right? They had negative COVID tests before they left NSW? I'm not entirely sure of the justification for taping balconies shut but it seems draconian to me, without a better explanation provided.

Also those who criticise Jet, you have no idea, never walked in the man's shoes, maybe he was having some sort of panic and just needed to catch his breath. I see other people criticising the club on this thread - you can't be responsible for 100% of activities of people with mental health issues, but that also does not mean you remove opportunities and freedoms from those people simply because they have a history.

If Jet was in Sydney, he'd not be out and about with his friends and family either. Only whomever he lives with.

But going back to the QLD pollies, you can only imagine if they did kick the NRL out for a few breaches, PVL will swiftly tell them not to expect the NRL GF or extra Origins or possibly even Magic Round for the next few decades. Perth and Auckland and Adelaide are hoping and praying for the QLD Govt to make that mistake.

This seems ridiculous. Surely if he's alone on the balcony of a high rise apartment with no one else in sight, he has got to be safe from spreading Covid, especially since he hasn't actually got Covid (I am hoping). Taping up your door is a pretty agricultural H&S practice wouldn't you say?

They just cant accept we won the SOO on their turf.

JTJ would’ve been alone in isolation back home anyway he lives with Nofa.

Let’s not assume anything until more information is provided. It could be a storm in a tea cup.

Hope the club and Awabakal are working in conjunction to support him through this.
The saddest thing about all this is, is that it is potentially harmful and does nothing to help reduce the social stigma toward mental health.
I've previously commended him for having the courage to share his personal struggles and continue to wish him every bit of luck.

Hopefully that downvote is an accident. Good post @Lauren
