Can someone tell me why the NRL agreed to the rule that the players weren't allowed on the balcony? From what I can see, JTJ hasn't broken any of the quarantine rules that apply to everyone else. The QLD health website specifically says you can go out on your balcony as long as you stay away from other people.

https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/protect-yourself-others/quarantine/hotel-quarantine

JTJ followed these rules, but gets a suspension and a fine, and yet the players and families who broke the specific quarantine rules had no further action taken against them. What a joke.

It isn't an NRL rule, it was put in place by the QLD government.

If the players were aware of this requirement, then I’m not sure we can scream to loud?

We can about the inconsistency

I wasn’t aware of inconsistencies?

Wasn’t the veranda doors supposed to be taped shut?

He must have went to the effort of removing the tape?

1 match suspension for going to a house party, 1 match suspension for walking onto a balcony. What garbage.

Can't go on the balcony but can share a common room with the people in the next room?

It's garbage but it's also over now. I assume the club pays his fine.

Is Anna banned from balconies and fresh air while quarantining on her return from Japan?

Chairman Lee was on SEN this morning, did anyone hear it? I heard soundbites on the news and he did not seem overly supportive of JTJ, but tried to paint the club in a good light by suggesting we were putting extra support in place.

Talk about shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, or in this case the balcony door after the NRL player has ventured beyond it.

I agree, but if that was a requirement, then it’s a requirement?

I also agree, the penalty was harsh, but maybe the NRL was just showing the state govt, they are serious? Isn’t the health person up there threatening to stop the competition?

How will the suspension work? Do we say he will picked for next week, but we can’t play him due to this suspension?

I assume he has finished isolation?

Im assuming its because the rule to gaffer tape the doors closed , came out after that breach by those other clowns passing food from balcony to balcony.
If Pascoe was to bang down the door on this terrible decision it wouldnt go down well and could possibly aggravate the CLOWN of a MINISTER who is in charge.
In saying that though its not very fair.

Both Anna and the soon to be Governor of Qld are dopes so what do you expect.

Dopes that have kept us safe and had us leading normal lives for the last 2 years.
My kind of dopes.

not letting people see dying family members

Yes the NRL should punish the state that allowed them to have a competition.
The state that allowed them to have an SOO.
That's gratitude at it's best.

what about the team that allowed then to not breach contracts for 2 years?

Thats a far bigger contract

Why was some random pervert taking photos of a guy wearing undies in his hotel room and was the stake-out applied equally across all NRL teams or just to the WT guy with a history of mental health issues? Was this a sting by the NRL KGB; a Danny Wanker exclusive; or top-shelf Slothfield journalism?

Rules are rules ...laws are laws

I don't understand why people get so torn up about them

Next thing players will start complaining the throwing passes 5 metres forward should be OK as well because it's only 5 metres

I must admit duct tape seems overboard ...but as we have seen people are so disrespectful ...to the people complaining lets put it another way ...I come to your house and you tell me not to let your dog into the house ...and i let your dog into the house and it breaks something valuable ...your gonna be pissed ...right

That analogy makes no sense Happy sorry . If the government are notified of said persons previous mental health issues , and are given a management plan that works within their exisiting guidelines , which from the messaging is the case , then choose to ignore those potential risks . Really don’t have a leg to stand on when the person with mental health issues , has mental health issues in lock down .

Here’s a better analogy . When you do a JSA/ start card . And you find hazards , do you not put protections in place for those hazards? Or do you ignore those hazards , and deal with the consequences once an event happens ?

I think we showed a lack of compassion bringing Roberts up here .......it was always going to be a hard lock down ....Annastascia hasn't done things so far hy halves ...so it wasn't going to change
