Last night when Peachey was in the bin and Liddle was off the field I was thinking here we go, we finally get Brooks at dummy half - he got a handful of plays and then Liddle came back on
 
I'm Brooks' #1 fan, but I have to admit that we look better with Madden at first receiver. There's just something about the way the game flowed when he was in charge. It's hard to explain.

I think Madge is grooming Madden to takeover full time. Madden seemed to run the show in the first 20 minutes or so, then Brooks took over. Probably a plan to only give him small responsibilities, and work his loads up.

Brooks and Madden are our halves. Hastings to the forwards. Doueihi is yet to be seen on a footy field.

I don't think Brooks and Madden are good enough. Our middle forwards aren't great either and I'm not sure if Hastings into the forwards is the best option for the balance of the team.

We are a bottom tier team. We need to make changes to become a top tier team. We need a much better spine.
 
Not to shit on Brooks further but when Jimmy Roberts made that break and Brooks got the ball a couple of passed wide, it was 4 on 3 with half the field. You should convert those chances but Brooks just stuttered, he just had no idea what to do.

Call it a demotion or development, but Brooks needs to start converting those 4 on 3, 3 on 2s at reserve grade level where he'll get more chances. We can squander any half chance we get because that's all we are going to get.

It's like he has a few options in his head, doesn't pick one quick enough and then just screws it up.

The Titans managed to do it with Fogerty and Sexton. Why isn’t it possible?
Almost exactly the same scenario.
Forgerty just resigned late last year with the Titans as well.
 
It being a Madden thread, not a Brooks thread.... we'll leave the spotlight on Madden.

He is impressing and sometimes that's all some one needs, is a chance.
He's demanded selection moving forward.

Very talented half who I believe will only get better. I'd like him to stay in the 17 and obviously halfback is his position.
 
Had my doubts about him previously but he's looking every bit the first grader this season.

We look much better with him at first reciver. Signs look good.

He's worth persisting with as I said in the game thread.
 
brooks could learn a thing or two from the last tackle kicks off madden. Im so sick of his lollipop shallow kicks. Besides that madden seemed to demand the ball a lot more and steered the forward pack nicely last night. Tough break on that last play hopefully that isnt the memory that sticks (but probably will be). He does lack creativity, but hey so does the other block whose played like 15 times more games and costs like 7 times more, reckon he'll come good over time hope he doesnt get the shaft when other blokes back, but judging toa's treatment he probably will. Brooks should be considered at 9, despite everything hes got a dart pass off the play the ball that for some reason none of our 'specialist' 9's can do with their abysmal service
