Traditionally, teams wait for the announcement from the team releasing them before confirming signing.

You want a top quality squad you have to either turn average players into top players or develop juniors that become top players.

I think JA leaving and JO joining will be announced at some point before Monday so it's done before pre-season starts.

he had Fifita and Haas getting most of the carries and his wife was also battling cancer so that's one way he's performance could have been effected.

Been carried by a very good pack ...we wll find out the hard way ...again

There pack was ordinary apart from Haas.
Offa on his day can outplay any forward. Big motor too..like the pick ip alot.

Look back since he has started ...Thaiday ...Gillett ...Fifita .....Jaydn Sua ...Essesse......Arrow ...ordinary ....lol

When teh WT's make a positive move / signing I'll give them the kudos they deserve .....James Roberts has never finished a contract ......and Daine Laurie in a fringe player from another club who is only potential ..the one bloke we were told was basically signed and delivered pulled the pin ...same happened last year ....Our best player for the 3 years has left (Grant ,Matterson and Tedesco )no matter the circumstances are

Well if we are continually trying to sign the best players and they continually say no ...we must address what the problem actually is .....I haven't seen any operational changes ....so yet again the club stick its head in the sand and ignores the obvious

Our club is seen by many as a bad joke across the board ...management and the way we are run ..roster ...multiple grounds

You are way too negative mate. This is just subjective assessments and it's meaningless. None of that stuff matters. You just gotta keep plugging away and see what happens.

I'd understand if there was consistent bad info coming out about the club but I don't see it. I mean do Saints still have supporters ? What about Melbourne ? What about Cronulla ? Those clubs have had some pretty poor moments in recent years.

The failure to sign a marquee player isn't bad info ...failure to make the finals since since 2011 isn't bad .....

But our bottom line operating profit is good .....and that isn't helping us play footy in September

I don't believe signing marquee players is an issue. I agree not making the finals is a problem but we haven't been consistently last. It's not so easy to develop a footy team that wins consistently.

I remember when Easts were one of the worst teams in the comp and laughed at all the time.

It can turn. It's harder to turn things around when you are handicapped by poor decisions of the past but that is the situation we are in.

And when it turns they'll get my full support ...until then I'll do my best to make them accountable ..which every fan of this club should be doing

If fans want to accept the crap the club as a whole has produced since 2011 go right ahead ..I won't

Aloiai is a marquee player. Along with mowing and painting sheds, I am sure he could erect a marquee

Dude , you need a break from this stuff IMO. I totally see how you got to where you’re at , but it really seems like it’s doing some bad stuff to your mental health.
You’re right if you choose to , you can totally focus on how bad everything is , because there’s a lot of bad . But I think what everyone is trying to say , if you’re so negative about it , which you’re entitled to be , why persist in this thing that you clearly have what appears to be a mostly negative interaction with .

Agree with Strongee mate. I'm no happier than you are at our predicament. Find me fans that are happy to watch every other club but ours play in a finals series since we last made it. We aren't.

Sometimes as fans it's nice to generate a bit of excitement about signings. Realistically, they can be anything for another club. Damien Cook went from a second grade nuffie at the Dogs to a Blues player at Souths. JAC got dropped from grade here (yeah I know JT etc etc,) and went on to be a Blues player.

Clubs get it wrong when they let players go. Some don't excel under certain systems. I give WT fans especially a lot of latitude with excitement over signings because we have had many players hightail it out so for some it might be reassuring to know that we are at the least a destination for players, even if it isn't a Latrell.

In summary, it sucks that we have struggled for as long as we have, you will get 100% agreement in a poll on this site. But don't make the mistake of thinking that grasping onto anything that can be perceived as positive or whatever else is said here to try and attempt to make a positive in a decade of negatives as an acceptance of mediocrity.

Former Queensland forward Joe Ofahengaue’s impending move from Brisbane to Wests Tigers is set to spark a transfer merry-go-round in coming days.

He has already updated his social media profile to describe himself as "ex Brisbane Bronco Player #212".

Ofahengaue, who made an unexpected appearance at the Broncos' first pre-season training session under new coach Kevin Walters on Monday, is finalising the terms of a release from the Broncos to join the Tigers.


Neither club has made an official announcement on the switch but it is likely to occur over the weekend.

The move will enable the Tigers to end an impasse with prop Josh Aloaia before his scheduled return to training next week by releasing him to Manly.

Brisbane are also likely to replace Ofahengaue with versatile former North Queensland forward John Asiata, who is unsigned and has been linked with a number of clubs for next season.

Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis indicated earlier this week that a resolution to the stand-off with Aloaia was expected soon and it is believed securing Ofahengaue as a replacement would trigger his release.

The Tigers last week signed former NSW centre James Roberts on a one-year contract with the option of a second year – a low risk deal that could prove to be a bargain if he regains the form that earned his Origin selection in 2018.

Another former Blues star James Tamou, who captained Penrith to the minor premiership and a grand final appearance, is the Tigers' main recruit and the club has also signed highly rated young Parramatta forward Stefano Utoikamanu.
