Joe Ofahengaue #240

Yea maybe the $ we saved on aloai goes toward joe coming here

Exactly.

People saying 'it is a separate signing, may Josh A stay!' are completely wrong. It is a direct 13 / prop for 13 / prop.

And keeps our money free for other areas of need.

Based on form prior to this year, this is an upgrade, but yeah still would like to see some compensation from Manly on this

Getting Joe O definitely does NOT compensate us for Aloiai leaving. That's just pure media spin.

Don't buy into it WT. They're playing you for suckers!!

You're both missing the point.

Releasing Aloiai releases his 350k from our cap, sure, but that will happen regardless whether we were happy to release him or demand something in return. His actions require retribution and compensation. A new signing has nothing to do with Josh's contractual situation. The only thing that changes is we've lined up an improvement on him, but that' got nothing to do with Manly or Smith.

Made it much more difficult to get anything out of Manly after they tragically lost one of their up and coming stars.
They've got to fill up their numbers as well as us.
But I do agree that we should get something off them and not be the charitable organization that we usually are.

Let’s hope the big O lifts his game next year because he was dead set rubbish this year

he had Fifita and Haas getting most of the carries and his wife was also battling cancer so that's one way he's performance could have been effected.

There pack was ordinary apart from Haas.
Offa on his day can outplay any forward. Big motor too..like the pick ip alot.

He's a big prop at 113kgs and 1.9 metres tall. We will now have a very good prop rotation as we did during the Sheens era. What the club needs for 2021 is a new good second rower, something like Sironen. It could soon happen.

I view it as a downgrade. Aloiai was great last year. We've also apparently signed JO for 3 years. The first 2 years sound okay as Brisbane are chucking in but then we get the 3rd year full freight.

I hope he performs.

It's quality right. I don't know. I'm not sold on this signing. I hope it works out for us.

Congrats to the club on signing big Joe. Was also happy to see we play the red V and Cows twice next year. Just need to extend Madge, sort out our nomad life and sign a fullback now.

People are going to expect his signing as a pack leader like Josh was in 2020 ......he isn't that man ....sorry ...If Aloiai was a qlder he would of got chosen ahead of Joe O in 2019
