Negatives: This is another last contract signing and I don't think it sends a great signal. Unless he transitions to second row, he may only have one good season in him, you don't often see centres last long into their 30s. Overall, I like Leilua but I feel like we're stuck in the early 2000s cowboys recruitment mode where we're buying older players who are past their prime and who aren't able to play consistently anymore. I don't think that's a recipe for success. I hope the contract is reasonable and Leilua plays with commitment and stays relatively injury free. If that happens my pessimism is unfounded but I'm concerned about how he's going to perform in 2021-2 and I think Canberra probably was thinking that way too because they were willing to let one of their better players go.
