Bateman played 32 NRL games for Wests Tigers in two seasons after joining the club on a four-year-deal ahead of the 2023 season.

Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson has thanked Bateman for his services.

“On behalf of everyone at the club I want to thank John and wish him all the very best with his future.”

Glad to see him go. Another step in the right direction for us. Richo and Benji should be applauded for the turnaround in our roster so far - a lot has been achieved this offseason and still more to come next season.
I guess the top 30 spot will go to Sione F and the leftover $$ towards a deal for Galvin. Nothing else will happen until we move on Bud or someone else which could be interesting but may or may not happen. The Taylan May situation is one worth watching as well if we do free up a spot.

Ok Bateman was not doing what we wanted , but who is going to fill that spot now. If the club has a ready made replacement to come in then it’s a great result, if we are relying on the kids to step up and we are paying $300 k a season it’s a dumb move , but I will wait to see how it works out

How much better have things become roster wise with the current people at the club?

SO glad this guy is gone. Such a liability on - and it also seems off - the field. The cowboys could pay $1 a year and it would still be the right decision.

This is great for Marshall: it sends an important message to the squad that you don't fk with him.

Good on Benji and Richo, and good riddance to the useless veteran with a teenager's temperament.

I'll say it again. SUKKAR
