John Grant should replace Lote

This is crazy. It's an assumption that a player is better because he is faster. Lote may not have had a great two weeks but many would argue he was getting better before then. Sure he's not a long term option but he still holds plenty of value for us. Next season might be different but this is this season.

How many games have you seen Grant play? How many games have you seen Koroibete play?
How many games have you seen Nofoaluma play?

Unfortunately half the OP posts have been solely promoting Grant to get a run in FG without any real knowledge of the players currently in front of him at the club.

Maybe zebraman is John Grant!

I think Willow is being kind. I'd say 100 per cent of Zebraman's posts have been about John Grant. A lot of times he's just copied and pasted the same post into numerous threads. Someone change the channel

Slowly slowly the John Grant army has been reduced to a one man band who will never give up.

We got the tip before the season even started that John Grant would not be going very far in his league campaign and that has proven to be correct.

In his last game before injury he scored three tries in the first half hour of the game and really looked like he was becoming dominant. That kind of dominant that you need to be at NSW cup level to expect to star in first grade.

In his first game back before injury he was in the centres and while he didn't get much of a chance to shine he impressed me with his willingness to take dirty hitups from dummy half and his ability to turn and chase whether it be a kick or a line break is among the best I've ever seen and puts our current wingers to shame in that regard. I don't think he has an issue with acceleration at all. He's not the sort of quick that'll skip around and then shoot through like Slater, Bowen or Barba, he's more like Hayne in that he can break tackles with his power and then just streak away. He caught Peter Mata'utia after giving him a 10 metre head start, jogging and Mata'utia didn't even make it to halfway.

If he ever gets a shot you'll all be singing a different tune. Haters gonna hate, as they say.

How can anyone regularly watch a player who has been out with boils for weeks and now has a leg injury??

I saw him at Henson - and despite the 3 tries he finished well - he was just another kid trying to make an honest quid at that level!

NSW Cup now means a possible trip to Newy, Illawarra & NZ to watch & I don't known of anyone that staunch!

I'll take a wager sir!!!!'

Grow up - the "haters" reference is both old & yet juvenile (aka. the worst of both worlds) - so stop with the hip-hop parlance that you hardly know how to use homes!

Ive seen alot of him in rugby, he is extremely talented and a very good footballer.

his injuries have slowed his development this year, and he is not first grade ready at this point, I have no doubt he has the ability to do it.

We have a heap of competition for those spots, the NYC wingers are awesome, and we are already trying to fit 3 players into 2 at the moment.

Objectivity in this thread is affected by Grants background, nothing more, nothing less. A GPS boy that's come from Rugby? There's battalions of people willing him to fail for no other reason than his success will dent the collectives opinion that 'RL playerz is better dan da Rugby nuffies' It promotes ignorance and lack of understanding to an entirely new level

Will be a great player in first grade. No doubt about it.

Give him a go. He cannot possibly be any worse than our current wingers.

Really?

Whilst I personally agree that Johnny probably isn't ready for 1sts I'd like to note a couple of things.
1: His reads in defence can't be much worse than our current superstar winger… Seriously!!
2: Most agree he has the potential... Would you want him learning his trade from 2nd graders?
My point being, There is only so much a team who doesn't play first grade can teach John about playing firsts Grade....
Put him in the Top Grade, Give him 4 Weeks.... Stick with him, Get some experienced players pushing him around the park and we will all know where he stands!!
He's Big, Strong, Fast and has good hands... And yes, I've seen him play many a time (When he's been on)
State Cup is only ever gonna give him so much of the tools he needs....
He needs to taste the big time, And I think he needs it now!!
Look at Everingham.... Hasn't looked back and was under our noses for years!!

x2.
Think we have to roll the dice on Grant & understand that he mite make the odd mistake, but vs the incumbent he's gonna firstly save the odd try or two & convert the odd opportunity into tries with his speed & size.
He's a smart kid & hopefully will learn quickly from his mistakes
Im loathe to think what a Bellamy or a Hasler wld have achieved with Grant's talents by now,but we are where we are I guess

some would argue that is irrelevant what other coach's would've gotten out of grant because they would've never bought him in the first place. a coach is the manager of a team and whatever squad the team builds is due to the coach.

you are such a tool.
You attempt to deride and mock others despite clearing showing no knowledge on the subject.

I dont mind people having different opinions, many things in sport are subjective. However you carrying on this issue is ridiculous.

Ironically your post is true, Hasler and Bellemy would be unlikely to buy a player from the shute shield or similar. Sheens has done it 4 times now, with varying success Saffy and Tuaki were successes, McGann was not and Grant is yet to be seen.
Bellemy styles shows he is likely to buy a proven journeyman and Hasler seems to have gone more mainstream as well.

And an update on Tim Simona would be appreciated too. Always had a wrap on him. Don't get to see BRET these days.
