Moltz @ 7 is a disaster waiting to happen, and if this is the case, surely Sheens would only move Moltz from the Number 1 jumper for Tedesco.

Why only Tedesco? I mean I think the one will be between Grant and Brown but there's also Humble and Reddy who could also play there.

I think you HAVE to start with Moltzen at seven because he has experience, way too much pressure for Miller or Chisolm imo.

I agree with you Helmesy I think Moltzen showed he was mot up to the pressure of fullback in the finals series & that Brown/Grant /Humble should be given a chance at the 1.
Miller & Chisolm need some more time to develop into such a crucial position as halfback & if there are injuries in the halves then they will have had more time to cope with the step up!!!! :sign:

Sheens has made it clear over the past 2.5 years that Moltzen at Fullback is his preferred positioning for him. To move the guy weakens 2 positons, rather than 1\. The only position up for grabs in Round 1 is Halfback & Frontrow.

If you feel Moltzen cant handle the 1, he is no chance of handling the 7… Furthermore, Humble & Brown are State Cup players that are handy back-ups for NRL, but to think either should be given a starting spot in our squad is simply mad!

"Well and truly in the mix"

Sounds like what they say to every player pre-season to keep everyone honest.
Im sure there are others "well and truly in the mix" as well.

I think Moltzen handled himself well at fullback late in the year and if Lui hadn't have left (if we believe this had nothing to do with Moltzen staying) then round one 2012 would have certainly been 1\. Moltzen, 7\. Lui.

The situation has changed and I think to throw Miller or Chisolm straight in will be too much pressure - all the attention will be on them and I reckon its better to do it slowly.

I really have to disagree on Brown - I think he's consistently shown he is well above state cup!

I'm with the OP, I think that Grant, and Chisholm for that matter, will be revelations for us next season. No inside info or insightful analysis here, just plain old gut feeling.

From what I understand Grant is more of a chance of playing on the wing than fullback, and when it comes to fullback, Tedesco is in front of him. Both players are training well but Grant will more than likely cut his teeth in State Cup on the wing and we'll see what happens from there. I'll also predict right now that Tedesco will debut at some stage in 2012.

A bold prediction Willow, a big step up for the kid in an important position, why do you think he will step up? will it be due to an outstanding purple patch in his form or injury leaving him the next choice or a game we should win so he is 'blooded'????

It would be great to have some real speed machine out wide, but if we were to gamble on a rookie i would be looking at the young Fijian flyer from the u20s first, only because we know what he can do. Grant needs to get a few games under his belt before we start jumping up and down.

As for the Moltzen debate, he will play no1 unless Sheens does a complete backflip and its anyones guess who will play no7\. I would like to see Humble given a shot, but my guess Miller will get first crack

Tedesco is highly rated by the coaching staff and is training very well. Should injury strike whoever Sheens opts for at fullback initially, I think we'll see Tedesco get a run provided he's in good in the NYC. Grant has less to worry about on the wing than he does at fullback and I think he'll provide good depth if Lote or Beau spend any time on the sidelines.

Will Lote be available for the start of the season? I recall hearing that he would have a cast on until mid February after having a pin removed from his wrist. If thats the case Grant or Reddy may be in the mix for round 1 if Lote hasn't fully recovered from his wrist injury.

Lote will be ready. Out of all the Tigers players who had niggling injuries or required off season surgery, Farah was the worst and he'll be right to go.

Hey Willow, is that our way of keeping him? By offering him a debut like we did with BMM? (well that is how it appeared from the outside anyway).

Personally I see molten as 7 and reddy at fullback which is what. He was bought for . Then we will see brown on the bench to start the year or perhaps Chisholm as he has versatility and allows molten to move around if their is an injury in the halves too

Moltzen has a very poor kicking game and is not a naturally gifted organizer, on the other hand he has a very good running game and can back up a break. That suggest to me he will be wearing the no1\. As others have suggested Sheens may try and squeeze Reddy into the starting 13 and if that is the case we may see Moltzen as no7 but it would be a massive back flip by Sheens

So you have Moltzen at half back so he can cover injuries in the back line?

Why go to all the trouble, just have Reddy on the bench who can play from 1-5 and in the backrow!
