Did you read my post because I explained exactly why I think he’s a shoe in and explained why I don’t think he’s a good choice.

He is also a dinosour, not the thinking we need for our club. We need to develop a style that is not grind and formula driven. We do need systems but ones that work for us, we need coaches that are at the cutting edge. We need to find a Webster, somone on the brink of becoming a head coach from a great defensive system that needs us to launch his career as much as we need him for his smarts.

Our issues are clearly greater than just coaching but coaching is still an issue for us.

We still need good coaching staff that are competent.

I’ve always hated this argument because it ameliorates responsibility and accountability for our coaching staff.

It shouldn’t be an out for useless or ineffective coaching.

Shane Flanagan for me , 2 years , we can’t keep using ex team mates , a fresh face is required , and he will take the job with no son involved in the deal as he doesn’t have the power for that , he may say the kid will come on a cheap deal and if it’s a reserve grade deal maybe $ 250 k back up , but I would be looking for better players , I just feel Flanagan could do the job we need to be done , I just can’t see anything better out there and we can’t have limited experience head coach with Heighno = no experience , Hodgo = failed coach + failed assistant and then add a young possible up and comer , we are not in a position to do this we need an assistant who has been at different clubs and had some success, Flanagan ticks those boxes and is far and away better than we currently have, and the club needs to get this done so everyone is on deck for pre season and the new assistant can start now going over footage of this year , every game , the injuries , who replaced who , and also know exactly what we are doing for pre season , everything needs to be laid out,

Yep, a lot can be placed on players- attitude, experience, skills but coaching is wanting- organisation in attack and defence, use of the bench, selections, skilling up of players, game plans. All that is coaching, not players and WT have been found wanting.

It is to be anticipated as part of the recruitment process. The club can assess the relevant applications against the essential and desirable criteria and reduce the number to a more manageable total.

That will be determined through the recruitment process and no doubt the selection committee.

Congratulations to the club for choosing this process to determine the new assistant coach or coaches, as more than one could be identified through this avenue.

Does he......as a head coach he failed to implement defece improvements at the Dragons....so he doesnt have runs on the board in that regard.,,,if we are soley judgfing his experience....yeah he has experience but not the runs on the board to back his experience.
