I've written previously that Marshall has been criticised for employing ex WTs, so the club initiates a recruitment process to cast the net wide for the best candidate. It can also include essential and desirable criteria and the selection committee can assess candidates against them. It may be the process results in more than one very good candidate being identified. If Rowley is part of this process, this is imo a very good outcome which potentially reduces the level of influence of some managers.
