Wests Tigers suffered a 24-18 loss to Gold Coast Titans tonight at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in round 18 of the Toyota Cup.

The 10th placed Titans shocked the fourth placed Wests Tigers early with tries to hooker Matt Srama and winger Lachlan Creighton. Five-eighth Jordan Rankin converted both tries for a 12-0 lead.

Wests Tigers opened their account in the 17th minute when hooker Pat Politoni beat two defenders to dive over out wide. Five-eighth Jay Florimo failed to convert to leave Wests Tigers trailing 12-4.

The try came on the back of a good break by hooker turned half-back Dean Parata.

The Titans stretched their lead to 16-4 when five-eighth Jordan Rankin stretched out over the line in the 29th minute. Rankin converted the try for an 18-4 scoreline.
The scores remained that way till half-time.

2nd Half
The Titans went further ahead when half-back Cody Walker scored. Rankin converted the try for a 24-4 lead after 45 minutes.

Lady luck was on Wests Tigers side for their second try when a grubber kick by Parata saw Liam Ayoub score after Srama fumbled the ball.

Florimo converted the try for a 24-10 scoreline after 51 minutes.

Wests Tigers got back to 24-14 when centre Tim Simona scored out wide. The try was not converted.

Two minutes before full-time, Wests Tigers got back to 24-18 when Politoni scored out wide. The try was not converted.

The loss leaves Wests Tigers on 22 points but still with a very positive for on the for and against ratio.
