Jordan Kahu & contractual obligations

You are correct….sort of

“Wests Tigers have given Keebra Park tremendous support and that was long before the Titans were on the Gold Coast,’’ Lenton said.
>
“The school was down and out in 2000 and was going nowhere with its rugby league program. I approached a few NRL clubs and nobody wanted to know me. Then Wests Tigers approached us. They stuck with us when we were only small.
>
“Wests Tigers came on board through Steve Lavers initially. Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell and Tim Sheens have since been very supportive. Without Warren and Tim, I don’t know where the school’s rugby league program would be today. And without Wests Tigers, Keebra Park would not be celebrating this victory.”

Sheens and McDonnell get some things right............

Balmain 15's touring squad had a good win 28-6 over Keebra Park HS U/15s, most of our kids do go to school at Holy Cross. It would be great if Wests Tigers sent a couple of kids there to boost up their Arrive Alive team as well as sending a couple to Gregs. Once they get a taste of life on the Gold Coast I know where they'll be heading back to as soon as their contracts allow.

Geez Keebra have died down from their Halycon days. Or at least until Wests Tigets stepped in anyway.

I went to Benowa when I lived up there and played a season, my older cousin also went to Benowa and used to tell me stories about how good Keebra were.

The use of Keebra Park High for Tiger potentials has always been strong. However, is there a possibility of housing the younger hopefuls closer to Campbelltown/Leichhardt/Auburn area?

That's a really good idea, Im hoping someone has already thought of it. and in the works

I believe **they** should turn a local school into a kebra style juggernout…

Who is 'they'?

The Wests Tigers

Do any of you guys out there know if this young bloke has signed with the Broncos ! I know he would prefer to stay in Qld. Hopefully we can still sign him.

Dont hold you breath….

By all reports Kahu is Broncos bound............

If you want a _**state**_ sports high school then the initial set up and funding etc would come from the Department of Education, which probably makes the chances of establishing another sports high school in the Sydney area close to impossible - Campbelltown would be the likeliest place on the wish list. My concern was that you set a kid up in Qld with a family member and that will likely be where they want to stay.
The benefit of Keebra has really proven itself, esp in terms of nicking Kiwis - just like to see it closer to our home grounds.
Out of interest do any other clubs have affiliations with high schools **a long way from** their home areas?
