OFFICIAL Jordan Miller #289

We get 10 sick days PA. 7 hour work day, and salaried, not wages. 4 weeks AL. Mandated leave.
Teaching is not what it was even 20 years ago, and is certainly not a respected profession.
I've just had 6 months off caring for my husband, but had initially planned to take 10 weeks LSL, to try and get my mental health sorted, but, nope. I'm back at work, feeling physically ill, knowing the classes I have today and the level of violence and abuse I'll have to cop, from the kids, let alone the parents! And I teach in a good, rural school.
If the people in the world are half as good as you Suzie it would be like HEAVEN, your family are very BLESSED to have you, you're worth your WEIGHT IN GOLD, 🙏

Anybody know is Miller the one to lose his contract nothing on the website
Not being acknowledged as an international in that social media post/press release can be one of 2 things: Miller is the one who has lost his contract and is no longer a Tigers player, or there has been ineptitude from the social media team... Not sure which is most likely. I feel like the omission probably would have been corrected by now.

He is still on the nrl team section of the wt website. Maybe the marketing team thought his international selection was a mistake.

lol Playing the game … argh !!! What game ? , is there a ball ? Are using bats ? Is it chess ? Is there a board involved ? Cards ? lol that saying right there ….if ever there was a saying that sums up breaking a man’s spirit it’s “play the game “
Everything is a game.
Learning the rules is the hard bit.

It’s a bad oversight.
One that’s very easily rectified to boot.
Yep ! That’s why when you learn the rules it’s soul crushing . Because you realise what a genuine waste of time most of the things we do are . Not to be all dark ,it’s why suicide is so high in middle age men . Especially if you’ve been and done something life defining at the start of your life . Ex servicemen , ex sports stars , guys who’ve devoted thier lives to adventure racing , or climbing Everest , or you’re in a stem field and you’ve made a break through .
Because most of time , it’s just a lot of monotony and “playing the game “ .

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is something to this rumour. We signed Royce Hunt for 3 years who would fill the same 20 minute role.
Chances are we’ll hear about it in the in game commentary from Vossy before we hear about it from the club. #Richo needs help!

I feel like it’s time to lay down a bunt.

My wife was a senior maths teacher for 30 years and put massive hours in. Would be out the door at 0630 never home before 6pm and then at the desk of pain till 11pm marking and setting papers. During holidays nothing much changed. She always said the rewards of teaching out weighted the long hours, and she was not talking money rather the satisfaction in seeing kids reach there potential and beyond
My daughter has just graduated and has just got her first teaching role last week to start next year. I reckon she’s going to have the same work ethic as your wife. The saddest part of her interviews was the typical leading question from the principal of “why did you pick teaching given the Atar mark you got? You could have picked anything with that mark”. I think that comment devalues the profession and that’s coming from the top. The one thing that’s a rort Is Catholic education offering 12 month contracts. My wife was on back to back contracts for 7 years at the same school before being offered permanency. If the government wants to address teaching shortages piss that of and offer some job security.

Yep my wife was a casual for about seven years, getting short term gigs all over Sydney. She had multiple degrees in maths and struggled to get a full time gig till a leading girls private school snapped her up. She ended up teaching three girls who topped the state in four unit maths and for a non selective school that was an excellent achievement, granted they did give out scholarships for talented kids.

Anyway not that I really know, but I think the education department in NSW has improved out of sight and teachers have more chance of getting jobs on merit than in the past
