OFFICIAL Jordan Miller #289

I feel for skool teachers. Tough gig. Dying breed. Ai will take over. So they can afford another career Thats the good news.
Yep, I feel for them too.

A thankless task except for when a parent wants to bemoan all the effort you are trying to do.
I know many who have quit. One guy had a chair thrown at him during teacher prac and just dropped it.

Gen X/Y aren't putting up with the BS and the BS has gotten worse.

Haha i always thought that about school teachers too but they got a bloody tough gig these days
I couldn’t do what they do, I haven’t got the temperament.
That said they are compensated well, get lots of time off and seem to have unlimited sick days. They are also mostly doing something they have a passion for. I.e. career not just a job.
Compared to most industries they have it pretty good.

What's this got to do with Jordan Miller

No I don’t want him to fail.
My reply was a joke to your pissant reply.
Yes I post positive stuff. I’m not surprised you missed it though as you seem hell bent on chasing me around the forum looking for dirt. Lol.
BTW.. it’s you’re, you illiterate old turd 😎

I'm a teacher.

And you're right; very well compensated and the holidays are a good aspect to the job. Though we do have a very finite number of sick days, 10 per year.

Problem is, most of us don't take them as there's very few relief teachers available.

The job has its challenges like any other, but you'll go a long way to find an industry that whinges more about what they don't have...

...and thats coming from a teacher.

There are far too many that take themselves too seriously in the job and forget how good they have it.

That said, 99% of administration and management in education are the biggest sack of circle-jerking, untalented yes-men/women you'll ever find.

We get 10 sick days PA. 7 hour work day, and salaried, not wages. 4 weeks AL. Mandated leave.
Teaching is not what it was even 20 years ago, and is certainly not a respected profession.
I've just had 6 months off caring for my husband, but had initially planned to take 10 weeks LSL, to try and get my mental health sorted, but, nope. I'm back at work, feeling physically ill, knowing the classes I have today and the level of violence and abuse I'll have to cop, from the kids, let alone the parents! And I teach in a good, rural school.

Most people that say teachers are lazy wouldn't have the backbone or intelligence to do their job for 30 minutes.
I have nothing but admiration for teachers. Such an important job and so often taken for granted, pay em more and encourage others to join.
Remember once when a state governments role was to focus on the 4 key areas:
- Health
- Education
- Transport
- Policing
Pity they’ve got waylaid eh !

Stay strong Suzie you are doing a vital job because without decent education as some adults here would end up as brain dead as many are in the USA who can't even name any other country and they are at college level

The last paragraph could be describing the management at NSW Health, as well!

I feel for you. Best wishes. My father was a deputy principal (he is in his 80s now) but moved to the education faculty at our local university. He seemed to have enjoyed his university career more although when he speaks of his time in schools you can sense that he cared for his students as I am sure you do..
