Yeah but Melbourne have released him from 2021...so why can't we talk to him....if we're the only club that sticks by the rules explaines our recruitment

That's what I was thinking... We have a truck load of money this year and even more next year.. Considering we struggle to attract players it would be a good move all round to try and nab him for 2021 and that would assist with more recruiting. I would even offer overs to make it happen.

Isn't it only if a suitable replacement or financial agreement could be met

If so I would've thought you would have to come to an agreement with Storm management 1st than JAC would be given the option of dealing with the club that the storm see has offered suitable cover for their loss of JAC

But I guess JAC may have been given the option to find himself a suitable club for himself and a suitable option for the storm to consider

Either way if we are free to talk to him we probably are and Pascoe is only going to answer questions from fans as he sees fit at the time so no use getting worked up about his answers

There would be 2 reasons to deny talking to JAC. 1. Storm have a too strong starting position on negotiating a release. An underlying indication that they’re not interested . 2. We are talking and don’t want the negotiations made more difficult by blasting it over the PA system.

Im not having a go at you 20/40 but there is only 1 reason to deny talking to JAC. It is expressly against the rules. Cant talk to a played before Nov1 a year before the end of the contract. Now some here have noted that he has been granted a release at the end of 2020, but his contract is still end of 2021.

Melbourne will still enforce the embargo because they need the negotiating space.
