In life you need to be disciplined even when provoked. This is especially so when you are a highly paid and well known person.

I have not viewed the video but am uncomfortable with what has been described.

From Facebook - Josh Reynolds who was charged with domestic violence in November is seen in a video that we won't post here for legal reasons, is allegedly seen in a video doing the rounds on social media repeatedly and aggressively calling a female "dog and a c*nt".

Without knowing context it appears she scared him which upset him whilst recording him without his knowledge. It's unknown how old the video is however it's doing the rounds on social media in private groups.

So he reacted when he found out he was being recorded without his knowledge? Is that really all? If so he's the victim.

Geez what a horrible take.

It's not a horrible take at all. Like @happy_tiger said previously this incident is so clearly a set-up by the woman in question. She's provoked him then recorded his reaction on camera, all for what? And the way you blokes go on and on as if you've never argued with a woman in your life. He won't be sacked for this and shame on whoever recorded/distributed the video.

Crikey, another horrible take.

Seems a lot in here condone this kind of behaviour. He has history of being aggressive/intimidating behaviour towards women.

I should stress I haven’t seen the video and really don’t want or need to see it. But, if it’s as reported earlier in this thread I can’t see how the alleged behaviour frees up $750k or whatever JR is on per season. The behaviour as reported is crass and boorish but not criminal in its own right. The other matter before the courts could potentially result in a criminal conviction. Happy to hear I’m wrong but I can’t see how we’re $750k better off at this point.

Agree... stupidity rules the NRL. He may not ever play another game for us but we’ll still be paying his salary that entire time. Thanks Iv... thx a lot

No his contract would be null and void.

Why did it take the Dragons so long to get Cap relief for De Bellend....

It depends what path the Club take...

Wests tigers would have to terminate his contract for that...given the official statements after both incidents they look to be sticking by Reynolds for now

The ravens stood by rice until video released. Different sports I know BUT there’s words and accusations then there’s video. And that isn’t a good look. All it’s gonna take is a main sponsor to say get rid of him or we walk.

However tigers need to take a stand on moral ground here. I suspect he will be stood down at some point in the near future, especially if there’s more footage

Both incidents we’re disclosed to the NRL when they originally occurred....the integrity unit or NRL or the Club have not stood down Reynolds ....which is in their power under the no fault policy

Doubt very much the public release of the video will change that stance

I don't know why the leaker needed to go to the club or the media unless unless they wanted something out of it or are very vindictive.

If they felt the line was crossed, the police are the only ones that need to know.

Seems like there's much more background to the story than just Josh flying off the handle randomly = he's a woman basher.

This supposedly happened before the DV charge.

Video is leaked after the DV charge.

The leaker says on twitter that the truth needed to come out, but what I don't understand is, if the matter is before the courts, why would they need to leak this if they simply "wanted the truth to come out" - they could wait for the verdict.

I think this is more to do with wanting money or initiating a public stoning to help their case (or both) given the timing of the release.

Of course, it is. Because it's against how you take the whole situation. I've noticed that a lot with your posts...

Sure, he's using language I don't necessarily agree with but you really do have to question why the woman has chosen to record all of this instead of leaving like Reynolds had asked her to.

You don’t find his actions intimidating, swiping at her with the remote etc?

I don't have an opinion - let the club and courts decide.

However it sounds to me like you have an agenda.

I'll agree that is intimidating. Like I said I don't agree with the way Reynolds is acting in the video, however:
(1) None of his actions in the video can be considered criminal
(2) Why has the woman not listened to his repeated request to leave the house and instead chosen to record the ordeal without him noticing? For someone that should be intimidated that is quite weird if you ask me

But like always, since I don't agree the held views on domestic violence I'll now be painted as a DV offender who has no respect for women, despite the fact I've never done such a thing. That's how it usually goes.

Are u aware of the law?
Raising your voice to your woman is enough to be charged these days.

Not only did he do that he also verbally abused her in a threatening state.

As far as the law would view this, lines were crossed.
Hence why a dvo was put in place.

If this was to happen after he'd be facing a few years in prison.

There's nothing wrong with having an opinion. Let's just remember we have only a sprinkling of details, very little of the context and only the perception of one side which we know has an agenda (whatever that agenda may be).

How about we hold off on the Kangaroo court for the moment?

My opinion is looks bad, no idea how it fits into the scheme of things for Josh personally, but doubt we will get any cap relief through all this.

Name one thing I’ve said that isn’t true.

We do not know if he is an actual DV offender or not. I'm only speaking on the basis of this video, which while I think it is distasteful, it's not more than that. Surely not something to be convicted of. Regarding his actual court case, I have nothing to comment on whether he is guilty or innocent that's up to the judges. Like I said, I'm only speaking on this video.

Facts.
Can be a simple verbal argument and a neighbour calls the police.
Making it a police matter and they put a DVO in place even if the women declines.

More on www.nrluniverse.com

So he reacted when he found out he was being recorded without his knowledge? Is that really all? If so he's the victim.

Geez what a horrible take.

It's not a horrible take at all. Like @happy_tiger said previously this incident is so clearly a set-up by the woman in question. She's provoked him then recorded his reaction on camera, all for what? And the way you blokes go on and on as if you've never argued with a woman in your life. He won't be sacked for this and shame on whoever recorded/distributed the video.

It wouldn’t be monetary reasons. His ex is pretty well off financially

So possibly another 600k to spend?

How the hell are we going to spend all this

It's good to finally have cash but we can't find anyone to take it off us

Quick personal example....many years ago an ex told me she was pregnant, only to leave me pondering that for a whole day before telling me she had made it up just to see my reaction.
Cannot remember my exact actions but there would of been plenty of bad language and yelling. So that is a potential DV charge against me then judging by some on here? Insane. No wonder the world is so pathetic.

If this video was leaked without any of us having any knowledge of the charges he is currently facing would it viewed as that bad? My wife (of 15yrs) and I say some nasty things in anger from time to time but that doesn't make either of us a domestic violence perpetrator. I will admit I'm scared of her if she hears me sneaking in at 4am when I'd said I'd be home by 11pm but I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission.
I'm not a JR supporter by any means but I'm not a detractor either (unless the charges are proven then like any decent bloke I will hope he gets punted and punished accordingly).
