If this video was leaked without any of us having any knowledge of the charges he is currently facing would it viewed as that bad? My wife (of 15yrs) and I say some nasty things in anger from time to time but that doesn't make either of us a domestic violence perpetrator. I will admit I'm scared of her if she's hears me sneaking in at 4am when I'd said I'd be home by 11pm but I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission.
I'm not a JR supporter by any means but I'm not a detractor either (unless the charges are proven then like any decent bloke I will hope he gets punted and punished accordingly).

Sorry champ.
In the eyes of the law it would.

If your neighbour called the police and stated he could hear a violent argument... you're likely to be in trouble.

I know a fair bit about the law but no need to go into that. Anyway, I know the point you are trying to make but that doesn't mean it's reasonable to assume from that video that he is a certified wife beater.

Agreed but there is a court case in process to determine if he is. Separate to that we have video clearly demonstrating how he treats women.

"clearly demonstrating how he treats women". Really? I think he is angry and swears a lot but that's a fairly big leap you are making.

In the video he threatens violence if she doesn’t do what he asks. You are ok with that?

I'm not sure if I've seen the whole thing but do you mean when he says he will "flip it"? That's a bit different to saying I'm going to tenderise you like a cheap slab of rump from Coles. It's still not a good look I agree but just think some perspective is needed.

"I am going to flip it"

Flip what?
Flip out?

Sounds threatening no matter how u paint the picture.

It is threatening, no doubt about it. Definitely not right at all. But you have to ask the question... Why isn't she leaving and continues to record?

Why are u asking me?
Only she can answer that.

The Twitter said that it was her home also.
Why should she leave?

Daresay she felt threatened and recorded for her safety.
Where do u suggest she goes? To the police station? Sounds like she did....

What side u on bra

As in, leaving HIS house?

"I am going to flip it"

Flip what?
Flip out?

Sounds threatening no matter how u paint the picture.

It is threatening, no doubt about it. Definitely not right at all. But you have to ask the question... Why isn't she leaving and continues to record?

Because she lives there as well.

Was there a DVO issued when he got charged the first time? He's breaching his AVO order just by being in the same room with her if true.

No.
You can cohabitate whilst a dvo is in place.

You just cannot breach it.
Which means u cannot harm, intimidate or threaten.

But u can still live together.
Its not a restraining order.

This is factually incorrect. You can still cohabitate while there is a DVO. It depends on the terms.

This guys actions are his alone. We are discussing his actions. The fact that Josh Reynolds NRL future is at risk is due to his actions, not us discussing them

Quick personal example....many years ago an ex told me she was pregnant, only to leave me pondering that for a whole day before telling me she had made it up just to see my reaction.
Cannot remember my exact actions but there would of been plenty of bad language and yelling. So that is a potential DV charge against me then judging by some on here? Insane. No wonder the world is so pathetic.

100% would be m8.
Happened to a friend of mine.

Then the police officer said call us back in an hour and we'll come back and take him away if ya want.

Are you still friends with him?

I hope not given your stance on these issues.

They had a verbal argument...

We all have them.
Just have to keep cool and not lose it.

The Reynolds video is only verbal...what's the difference?

Get your friend sacked and ruin his reputation, lest you be called a hypocrite.

As i explained...
It wasnt filmed and it was an argument
Heated from both parties...
Cops came, neither wanted to take it further but it was now a police matter.

My friend had to go to court and had a 6 month DVO in place.

This is something we as men need to be aware of.
The female was just as to blame but the courts do not care.
She didnt wanna DVO, the police did.

Im sure it was stressful for him but they're still together and that was 3 years ago.

Do u understand?

I get it mate. Couples argue...sometimes with some pretty nasty words exchanged. I'm with you on that. A heated argument between couples from time to time is fairly normal as I'm sure you'd agree.

Cops weren't called on Reynolds at all in the video.

It was pretty tame as far as domestic disputes go, yet in an identical situation, you want Reynolds head on a stake, whereas your friend gets a free pass. Surely he should be held to the same standard?

If he's argued with his partner more than once, does that indicate he has a "history of domestic violence"? Should he sacked from his job given this "history"?

If bad words = domestic violence and intimidation, then all the men on this forum are victims as much as the women in the video is. Or are the rules different for women? Do they have a free pass to swear at their partners without fear of a DVO?

You see where I'm going with this? The whole thing is out of hand. It's impossible to attain perfection as a human being. People are judging him with no leeway for human imperfection and an appreciation of momentary emotion.

If he has struck her, then that behaviour should not go unpunished as I'm sure 100% of the forum agrees. I'm isolating this post to the incident in the video. I have no knowledge or understanding of what has occurred in the relationship so my comments don't extend to that.

I see Reynolds language towards his partner as more of a moral issue than a criminal one and I'd just like to see a proportionate reaction to incidents like these.

Agree with what you say about having to keep your head these days. It's also sad that we need to think about filming our verbal altercations in case we are accused of something more serious than what has actually occurred.

Welcome aboard. It is his future, and he should have thought of that before doing what he's done. No one forced him to do it and whatever happens from here is his fault.

He gets paid more than most people could ever dream of to literally play a game. It's a privilege and if he loses it all because of this so be it. I couldn't care less.
