No second rowers and no centre’s who are NRL standard, no wonder we are on struggle street. Just one of each would be nice. Lets sit back and see what we get from the reject shop

Yep true. That's why we need to go hard on Klemmer and Cotric. Offer them overs I don't care any more.

4 most important positions defensively (3,4,11 and 12) and we rank 16th out of 16 clubs

Look at the market place ....basically no one left to sign

What at you doing WT's ??????????

Club continues to make bad recruitment decisions on the 17 picked why would you choose a centre that can't tackle

Before his injury I would put garner at centre and picked the best defensive option to replace second row may have plugged a few holes in that leaky defence

Both Pauga and Cini had shockers their second game.

The pressure/ emotion / toll on the players to get themselves up for debut is huge, I know many coaches will bring them up for a debut then drop them back.

(Was Jake Simpkin also dropped after his second game or was it a bit later?)

I'd stick with Talau but only at right centre. I don't want Roberts back in the side. He's terrible in our defensive line and has made just as many errors as TT. How many times has he been put into touch. Done nothing all year.
I like the suggestion of Cini getting another go for Pauga.

Anyone think Corey Oates could play centre? Gotta be better than what we've got. Big body in defense and will help bringing the ball out of our end.

Talau's hands are woeful. He simply makes too many critical errors, whether that be at key times, in important position or in defensive reads.

He's most certainly worth keeping as a project, but he is just too unpolished atm.

A full two seasons in reserve grade would do no harm to a talented kid who is still only 20.

We are missing Momorovski - he was very steady in the centres but swapping him for part of the deal to get Laurie was a good decision.

This.

+ Slow, doesn't compete, average D.

Can finish but so can most wingers.

Really doesn't offer much.
Happy for him to play reserve grade for the rest of his career.

U should care

Cause then we r back to square 1...YET AGAIN...where we r now only just getting rid of Clearys dead wood after this season

I'm guessing Ogden and Tuilagi aren't in the bubble? Time to get ready for next year and cop the learning experiences (I.e. losses). We are in denial if we are seriously contemplating a tilt and wasting the time we need for development, which is clearly what Madge and Hartigan have identified as the way forward.

We have a strategy, commit to it.

When was the last time a player in the NRL missed 14 tackles in one game? I can't remember ever.

He misses plenty for sure, but his hands look good and he's good on his feet.

Who do you drop between him and Talau?

Drop both.

I have seen nothing to in-still any confidence about a strategy ! The flip flopping around the last couple of high profile players reflects that .
If there were a strategy Re recruitment this would not have happened .. I would like to know what the strategy is as this has only been reflected by posters here not the club!
I would like to know from the club what the strategy is moving forward , as a member I have received nothing . Maybe if the club was a bit more transparent with future plans Re recruitment many of us might have some faith .. as 11 years of failure is leaving a very bad taste in ones mouth!

If there is clear definite weakness in our backline, like the centres we had on the weekend, the opposing team will quickly smell it likes sharks smell blood in the water. If the club doesn't remove Talau and Pauga from the team for next week's match Warriors will have a picnic

We don't have a single good defensive centre at the club. No matter who gets picked they'll struggle to make their tackles, that's why if Talau gets picked again I wouldn't even be mad. There's no good options

Tuilagi is in the bubble - Ogden was previously injured and is not part of the top 30.

Not a single goods defensive centre at the club? That proves was a massive failure this club has been and continues to be with regards to recruitment. Embarrassing basket case it is.

This in itself is a terrible damnation on the people in charge of recruitment over the last few seasons !

And we went into the season like this...

All in on BJ and Jet... not known for their defence but can break games open, in their prime... which is in the past.

Massive error overlooking this.

There’s not too many options out there though. I actually think that there is a massive shortage of top class centres full stop.

If you look at the Origin teams only Gagai is a full time centre. The only genuine top class centres I can think of are Staggs, Crichton and Manu, maybe Olam too. Next year Staggs is supposedly going to 5/8 so that will thin the field again.

Agree with you about defensive issues but Talau can't catch and is now having difficulty in pass selection (and passing backwards). I think he has had far too many opportunities to show something.
