I like Pauga. He has some work to do on his defence but did demonstrate spark in attack which we badly need. He has an opportunity here next year imo if he can make improvements to his defence.

Improvements?
Lol he doesn’t even possess high school level defence.

Defence can be taught. One of our best ever clubman, a centre himself, was a pretty bad defender. You may remember Chris Lawrence. I recall Sheens really giving it to him about his defence and he improved out of sight. Another Shark international was absolutely pathetic but turned it around to become one of the best defensive centres Australia produced. He also had blinding pace - Andrew Ettinghausen.

I like Pauga.
Seems like a nice guy.

Will be depth for 2022 and probably not extended beyond that.

Unfortunately when you look at our depth & current injuries, if you are in the top 5 centres you will be starting in round 1.

Our centres is a HUGE issue that needs to be addressed.

Cotric to Eels huh?
We should be asking questions here...

Even if he is a winger.
Versatile imo.

Kepaoa will be a really good centre. Big, strong, fast and with a good pass left to right.

When did Rowdy become a great defensive centre?

Rowdy became a great defensive player fullstop. Cleaned up a lot of traffic on the left.

Nah. He was Ok head on but laterally he was easily beat.
Certainly not great.

He was still our best defender in the centres last year despite spending his previous 3 in the back row and being on the verge of retirement. Mind you that probably says more about the alternatives.

Rowdy's biggest weakness was when he came screaming out of the line ...like Nofa ...you've got to bury the ball player in a dominant tackle or it's try time next tackle ....

Is he on track for round one, or looking at missing time? If it were NFL, he is top of the depth chart

Definitely has attacking ability. Deserves a roster spot while he works on his game

He can be taught to defend .. he can be taught to tackle already has attacking ability which can not be taught already 70% there if his attitude is good and wants to knuckle down plenty of upside.!

Hopefully wherever Pauga is working on his game it isn't with us. He simply should never play first grade ever again. Even playing him in NSW cup would be an insult.

Who would we rather invest in? Ogden or Pauga. Probably not room for both.

It's an incredibly easy choice for me. We have to prioritise our elite juniors over a failure line Pauga. He's in his mid 20s, awful in defence, average in defence, he's small and not express pace. It's time to move on. Worth an experimental last season, but now we can plan, develop and recruit much better players.

His defence looks like it needs a lot of work but do you remember Chris Lawrence early in his career? He was hopeless defensively

Lawrence debut at 18 , Pauga is 26 next season

And he was a star. Pauga is not.

The try v Melbourne at Leichhardt in 2009 ......we win 16-6 ...one of our best wins ever ...our current state almost brings a fan to tears ......

Almost?
I tear up nearly every day!

2009 was an interesting year. we beat both grand finalists plus Manly and the Bulldogs but still managed to miss the 8. that period where we lost 5 in a row ultimately killed us off. if we made the finals that year anything could've happened.

The Parramatta game is what killed us. Geyer screaming that Hayne was a freak because he got a room service bounce from a chip and chase, meanwhile earlier Marshall flicks a pass around his back that put Ayshford in the corner. But Hayne was the freak because of a chip and chase ?

That pass from Marshall is without doubt the best pass I have ever seen and I have been watching football for 50+ years

Agree. We used Pauga this year because we were desperate, he's not close to NRL level, and I don't see him improving all that much given his age.

I agree - Ogden a much better prospect. Very hard to say in mid 20s - I'm going to work on my defence. Not saying it can't be fixed completely but much harder if you can't do it by that age. Ogden can also play wing.

Is Ogden still with the Tigers? heard he was in talks with Redcliffe/Warriors
