Wests Tigers make key coaching appointments to Harold Matthews and SG Ball programs

The Wests Tigers have confirmed the coaches charged with leading the club’s Harold Matthews Cup (U17) and SG Ball Cup (U19) programs for 2026.

These coaching appointments bode well for the young players - and great to have Wests Tigers DNA all the way.

Yeah but can any of them actually coach? The one standout coach in the club has been Shane Sultana in Flegg and I don't think he has much Tigers DNA

He and the new NSW Cup coach will bring new methods and ideas to their respective teams. I hope our teams through the grades can play a similar style of footy.

He and the new NSW Cup coach will bring new methods and ideas to their respective teams. I hope our teams through the grades can play a similar style of footy.

I just hope they can identify talent--natural ability, physical ability and desire to be as best as they can.

Pheonix Godinet has been given this target by the club by pre-season. He's currently 96kg & 16%bf. Has taken it on as a challenge and got a nutritionist to revise his diet, according to his latest Insta story. This kid is a consummate professional & is still only 17yo I believe.

Campbelltown Collegians - Callum McMenemy (will play Camden Rams in GF next week that will likely include Riley Oitmann)

U18s
The Oaks Tigers won the GF - Josh Vella, Glassie Glassie, Brock Achurch, Will Jenkins, Harry Bickhoff

An aside, Jock Madden will play for Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the semi-finals of the QRL on the weekend, winner into GF.

he’s a free agent nov 1, dragons are trying to lock him down before that but it’s my understanding he’ll go to market. not sure where he would prefer but would be a great pick up for us

So Betsey was brought in to develop our pathways and leaves now with our pathways in just as bad, if not worse shape than when he arrived. Not sure if he was promoted or demoted out of that position, hopefully Gallant does a better job.
