Problem is the side isnt all that inexperienced.

Very inexperienced when it comes to finals football pressure, that is what tonights game was for our team and they couldn't handle it…..simple....

Yes but just remember what kinda experience has Penrith got in finals footy???

We win and it's "look how bad or off the opposition is", we lose and it's "look how bad we are"

Maybe the Panthers were just too good and with our wins…...........we were just too good?

Hell we beat the Cowboys and still people were saying "oh they weren't at 100%"......

Genuine question........If the opposition is allowed to have a bad day, why not us? Too many bad days maybe?

Tonights game against Penrith just shows how soft and inexperienced our team really is,the right side defense was appalling once again as was some of the more experienced players…If most of the forum were looking forward for a semi finals birth this year tonight showed just what level of football needs to be played,we aren't anywhere near that level I'm sorry to say..and if some are calling to sack JT,then sack half of this team, they are no where near competitive NRL standard even though they try, they would have been beaten by huge margins once they got to the semis..

I'm a tad confused TT..you have been talking the squad up all week….

That's because he's like most here, fickle. Their opinions change and are based sole on if the team wins or loses.

Wrong Chris, read the thread…I have talked the team up all week and was super happy after the last couple of weeks, however the Penrith game was a defining game and I honestly thought they would put in even though Teddy didn't play..... the team was absolutely abismal especially since they were talked up to make the 8..it seems pressure football of the standard the Panthers played completely overwhelmed the team and they were disappointing to say the least...

I guess it's easier to give up on them after a loss. Im sure you'll be back behind next week if they win and start talking them up again. That's a fickle fan's way, right?

Honestly, following the Tigers is like thinking your dating Elle and having no one turn up. All expectation but no result. Individuals asside, performance was terrible; and we honestly thought this side had a shot at the 8 :bash

Wrong again Chris,I never give up on my team, however I can criticise them when they play very well for a few games and then deliver garbage like last night, they were absolutely toweled by a team who want to play finals,we appear to want mad monday to be more important..we could have stayed with them but our mentality when things went against us was hopeless..lets give up and have a beer attitude seemed to prevail..LETTING IN SOFT TRIES LIKE LAST NIGHT WILL GET YOU TO THE BAR QUICKER THAN TRYING TO PLAY FOR FINALS CONTENTION…..we lacked heart and fight, something they have shown previously that they have plenty of...yes Iam dissapointed by that performance but feel much sorrier for the great fans of this club who went all the way there to support their team and be dealt up rubbish like that...

Defensively we still aren't there with the top teams. Shown it in patches this season but needs way more improvement.

That's a pretty accurate summation of where this team has progressed too.

Personally I think they played their grand final last week and were shattered.
There was no energy in anything that they did last night.
There was a story in Fridays Telecrap about Kidwell not being at the Tigers next year, I didn't see him in the warm up or in the coaches box last night.
Anyone got any info?

I reckon you're right on the money here fellas.

With Kidwell now finally moving on, let's hope we have a decent defensive coach lined up because goodness knows we need it!!

So glad to put their defensive efforts of the last 3 seasons behind me, please give me something to look forward to! 😛ray:

Panthers were brilliant last night, and i don't think any other team would have beaten them on the night. I'm just disappointed that we didn't even come close to being competitive with them, especially our pack who just went missing.

To be fair our squad is better than the Knights, Dragons and probably the Titans. The Titans are punching above their weight and with the late season inclusion of Hayne look set for the semi's. So currently we have 1 origin player starting in our first 13 (Aaron Woods), Tim Grant on the bench who played a grand total of 2 games, Robbie playing reserve grade and Tedesco out for the year. Other than Moses we don't have a match winner who is currently playing first grade. All the other are good honest players some a litlte better than others but no one is bashing down our door to get them.
As a fan we always think our team is better than they really are and if you speak to people who support other teams they aren't really worried about our squad.

Even though the first try we scored was from a glaring forward pass from Woodsy
There wasn't much else to get excited about

Ok just make you happy, we beat the magnificent Dragons And the high flying ParraAnd the Cowboys , all three are giving the competition a thunderous shake and we had to play superior football to whack them, and prove the worth of our Coaches theory on selections and "Cohesion".
And last night we narrowly missed knocking the pants off the Over rated Panthers
That sounds better doesn't it.

I wonder if panthers fans today arent giving their team credit due to us being so poor

Being patronising to other members is a waste of time and just makes you look stupid

Cowboy's good and bad games are not usually that different. Look at the difference between our good/bad games it's like night and day.

It's not about making me or anyone happy, it's about some here being consistently negative. Some supporters will never be happy, excuses when we win and pitchforks out when we lose.

Yes our good and bad are night and day, but when we win, it's look how bad the opposition was and when you lose, again it's look how bad we are rather than how good the opposition was. If it's ok to say the opposition was crap when we win, why isn't it ok to say the opposition was just too good when we lose?
