It s fair point Hobbo.

Can anyone see us the Roosters imploding again next year?

Parra wont cop - 12??

The door was opened this year and we failed to take advantage of it.

While an unheralded Gold Coast squad did.

Neil Henry deserves big pats on the back.

Why does he deserve a pat on the back if he was just taking advantage of other teams underachieving? You''re contradicting yourself there.

Why is it a contradiction ??
Henry's obviously a smarter operator than your Guru ( JT) .
Opportunies are their to be taken in life .
The Guru butched another season !

Unlike my guru, Henry didn't have an ex captain undermining him and putting the club down in the media.

Farah complied to JT's wishes all year ..
Farah gave the reins to the kids , the kids weren't good enough , until JT saw the opportunity in that we were about to play 2 basket case teams in the Eels and the Dragons and then JT took the opportunity to finally shaft Farah .
Yeah Farah said some dumb things to the media , but that was after he was shafted into reggies .
But you believe in what you want if it suits your agenda !

We win and it's "look how bad or off the opposition is", we lose and it's "look how bad we are"

Maybe the Panthers were just too good and with our wins…...........we were just too good?

Hell we beat the Cowboys and still people were saying "oh they weren't at 100%"......

Genuine question........If the opposition is allowed to have a bad day, why not us? Too many bad days maybe?

Ok just make you happy, we beat the magnificent Dragons And the high flying ParraAnd the Cowboys , all three are giving the competition a thunderous shake and we had to play superior football to whack them, and prove the worth of our Coaches theory on selections and "Cohesion".
And last night we narrowly missed knocking the pants off the Over rated Panthers
That sounds better doesn't it.

It's not about making me or anyone happy, it's about some here being consistently negative. Some supporters will never be happy, excuses when we win and pitchforks out when we lose.

It not being negative to describe some of our opponents as below average this year ,
It's simply being realistic, some of those sides have been easy easy beats for a lot of this year,
some have been out of this comp since early in the season
Most here want to win.
But some aren't as easy to convince as others. As I've said before, we've seen it all before, and it doesn't smell any different so far.
Il start celebrating when we win our first semi final

Realistic or glass half empty? some people over the last couple of months have been waiting and hoping for a big loss. In the mean time, it's been "well, the guys we beat are crap anyway". Sounds like negativity to me.

Il start celebrating when we win our first semi final

One of, if not, the youngest side in the comp, still trying to sort out a financial mess it was left with by prior administrations, due to this, unable to go after some talent to fill in obvious holes in the squad and semi-finals were expected? this is being realistic?

Gold Coast were the bookies fav for the spoon and you like to talk about bookies ink!!!

Its a results driven business.

1 game can be the diff between finals and no finals.

McFadden might finish 1 or 2 games out of the finals and get the flick.

Its a fine line.

Don't you read my positive posts for Taylor?

I said he deserves another year.

I wonder if panthers fans today arent giving their team credit due to us being so poor

Being patronising to other members is a waste of time and just makes you look stupid

I had lunch with a Panthers mate the next day. His first words were 'mate you must have been ropeable travelling out to see that, your lot were embarrassing'. I was and they were.
The Panthers played well, but we didn't even make them work for their points. All bar the first try were incredibly soft; I believe we'd have copped a hiding against any of the top 6-7 teams with the effort we displayed on Friday.

I don't see any issue with saying that some of our wins were against poor performances as well. You can only beat what's put in front of you.

You line our squad up against every team in the comp bar probably Newie and the Dragons and I would say we are weaker. The Coast when you look at their squad they have a lot of harden experienced NRL players mixed with some good up and comers, they have been underrated for a few years now

This is no longer an excuse.
We were both older and more experienced across the 17 than that Panthers team - 500 NRL caps more in fact, and a year older on average.

(admittedly Hardaker's low NRL numbers skew the Penrith number down a tad, but his 15 mins off the bench were pretty irrelevant anyway).

I don't believe this. We have a good squad.

Woods, Tedesco & Robbie are 3 class players who would be key players in close to every NRL team. Moses has come on and now looks likely to get to that level.

Our forwards then have players like Grant (he has been great), Ava (awesome player), ET (great player), Lawrence (decent second rower although he does have the occasional shocker). That is rounded out by Sue (too inconsistent but when in form is great), Aloia (needs to play consistently but can dent the line), Halatau (quality player who slots into a lot of roles). We then have two lesser players on the bench in Lovett and at the moment Edwards.

Our backline has speed and skill all over the place, Brooks is a great runner of the footy and I reckon his defence has improved out of sight. Simona and Naiqama are both quality players. Rankin probably isn't a first grade player but he has his moments. Nofo has been huge all season.

That is a quality squad. Some class players, a good pack of forwards and quick elusive outside backs. I accept that we have some weaknesses in our squad mainly one decent centre or winger. I'd prefer a winger like Nofo that can belt it up. We also now need a quality hooker. If we fill those two roles with some class then we look good. Then we just need possibly another gun forward or even just an impact forward off the bench. I think the forward role though will be filled from within the team. Brooks probably needs to improve but you can work with him and he has improved defensively this year.

I don't buy the doom and gloom regarding our squad. We've had a coach who has made so many mistakes over this and last season. The coach has basically hampered us just to get rid of Robbie. He has had the team playing dumb footy at times as well. I think the coach though has learnt from his mistakes and hopefully the Robbie situation will soon be over. Some more smart additions to the squad and we are looking good.

I'm still buoyed by the past ten weeks. The side has moved on in leaps and bounds and while I'll concede we haven't improved in the one area the coach said we would, we won plenty more games than I thought we would this year. The Cowboys game was easily the best game we've played since 2011\. We're probably a quality winger and second rower from being a top 4 side if we continue to build on.

The Penrith game was an abberation. I feared that they'd struggle to maintain the rage, particularly after the Cowboys game.

Moving on Kidwell is very ballsy by Taylor, he's just removed the last person before him that could be possibly be held accountable for the poor defensive showing. It's all on him next year.
