Does anyone know what the players were thinking having their contracts all expire at once?

I had thought that they were trying to blackmail WT to keep them together and get Overs. I was surprised because I thought the idea was too keep everyone at the WT.

Cleary clearly spooked Woods. Woods is a **champion** forward and I like him, but not for 950K and I get Cleary knocking him back for that. Crying out loud he knocked back Jennings and Lewis!

I wouldn't call Woods a champion forward…more so a solid forward....Burgess, Scott, Klemmer and Graham are miles in front of Woods...seriously Woods never bends the line...other players dont fear him running at them.

Moses and Brooks only extending their deals for 1 season at a time is in my opinion reflection that they are both prepared to walk when a better offer comes. When Brooks 2 years passes I could see him leaving as well if the right offer should come.

and aren't we glad that we have a coach who thinks long term for the good of the club and the team… we can't pay overs for one person or anyone for that matter.

I like JT but I am not sure if he would be thinking the way Cleary does so I am glad we got Cleary at the right time.

Cleary sticks to his mantra the star of the team is the team. The test was the players he could attract. Matulino, McQueen, Reynolds, MWZ, Twal are a good start. If he can land Packer, Milne, Fonua, Lolohea, Guerra the team will be better than it would have been keeping Woods, Moses and Tedesco as they would have cost 3m between them. We will also have much better depth players than before as no one is earning more than 650 a season.
Cleary will save Pascoes administrative career as when you look at it he is learning on the job it's high pressure.
