Justin Pascoe speaks

Ominous words for any coach to hear "you have the board's full support"! We all know what usually follows!

“We will be around for another 100 years.” There will be a jersey designers everywhere excited about that news. That's about 500 jerseys to design….....

Has Taupau asked for a release, Pascoe said: “Not to me, no.”

Anyone that understands English can understand that YES he has asked for a release , just not to him .

As if his not aware that Marty has asked for a release of course he has and knows it to .
121 248 221
We have 250,000 fans :roll .

One home ground
Finally
Gunna miss Leichhardt

There is another article in DT today regarding Liverpool emerging as a front runner for federal funding for a 30000 seat stadium with Wests Tigers agreed to set up a new home with the Carnes Hill project should federal funding come through

if the answers he gave are correct, i dont like the sound of our new CEO. he sounds like he will do what the board wants and lets face it they have showen that they dont have a clue. god help our club we go from one fool to another.

we've heard all this -rhetoric - before.
word games to avoid answering honestly is part of the media training all senior members are put through.

i hope we stay in Sydney
i also hope we dont lose Leichhardt oval.
it may not have all the flash amenities of the major ovals but it has the one thing they all lack - real atmosphere.

in 30 years of following the game - only a few home grounds have maintained that.
a packed leichhardt is a zillion time sbetter than 20k people at homebush or the city.
mind you 20k people is also at its very very best…...

separate topic i know - but the death of the home ground is one of the worst moves by the nrl in many years.

Well said Mr Pascoe …..... hard decisions do need to be made for the club to survive. You and your board hold the fete of our club in your hands. Please don't let us down like your predecessors did.

i find it so wierd that in sydney we probably have a 20K AT BEST average crowds and we wanna build and upgrade more stadiums (stadia?). let's just try n get more crowds in before putting more money in. the govt must be so stupid to fund this imo

We need one home ground.

ANZ is good for us at the moment as it will provide an extra $1.2m per annum into our sorely depleted coffers.

A Liverpool stadium is the way to go in the future. 25 mins from my home by car, a bit of a PITA to get to by train from Penrith, but still reachable if I want to go get stupid on the squirt prior to/at the game.

x2, common sense is not very common :frowning:

For 15,000 fans, Leichhardt and Campbelltown are more than adequate.

We won't be building any stadiums, the state & federal governments will be funding this. I don't know about you but wouldn't it be nice to have streamlined membership packages which all cost the same because all games are at the one venue?

Liverpool is relatively midway to both Campbelltown and Leichhardt (25 mins to C-town and 35 to Leichhardt.) You can access Liverpool from both core locations via M5, and all other fans who reside in Sydney can access via rail or arterial roads.

Just think, one stadium means no arguments about crowds about LO and CSS, no whinging about ANZ being a soulless pit, good access from all corners of Sydney and an actual home for Wests Tigers to call their own in an area on the grow which will help capture more future fans. There would be no more of this "responsibility" hung on the Campbelltown and Leichhardt areas to represent the club at their respective home games.

It's virtually all upside to me.

You can sleep over at mine…10mins down the road...

Totally agree with the post above this one as well....Nice to dream 1 unified home ground to call our own rather than the Nomads we have been since our inception....

There seems to be no good news for the club and Taylor haters.

I don't know why they follow this club. Please go elsewhere and vent, we do not need you.

With the Cowboys and the Bronks showing the way and playing a very attacking style of football and the wrestle not dominating the game as in the past, I am confident the NRL might start to flourish again and of course the reduced interchange can only help the game.

In saying that, you need a winning side to get full houses, Sydney siders love winners and loathe losers. If we ever get on a streak and came up against a quality Sydney team we could fill 30000 seats at a good venue without to much trouble, but while we are at the bottom of the pile we could not fill Pratten Park

Liverpool would be perfect, but it's a pipe dream atm. Hopefully the first step is the club setting up base at Carnes Hill, then go from there.

Isn't Liverpool Council the mob that promised the world to the Dogs a few years ago and then handed them an atlas! We'll be lucky to ever see a sod turned on the super stadium

so the govt should be spending millions and millions of dollars so that a couple of hundered WT fans can stop fighting?

i live in liverpool, a stadium here would be amazing. there are heaps of pros no doubt about it.

even taking into account the wanderers and possibly the giants, it's just very stupid to build a new stadium when the money can be spent elsewhere. sports is a big thing for us as aussies but sometimes it needs to take a backseat. ANZ, Allianz, Campbelltown, Parra and Penrith are MORE than adequate for the crowds that all 3 codes gather. we're all hanging on the idea of "build it and they'll come"

If the SW is what the club is gearing themselves towards, Cambo would be the much easier option with a stadium already in place. Id ather see an upgraded Cambo than a new stadium in Liverpool. And I am from Liverpool.

it's not like WE are filling campbo every game.. why even upgrade?

you upgrade when the current model is no longer sustainable or is unlikely to be sustainable in the near future

Because it wouldn't have to just house us. Any ground in the SW that's gets significant upgrades will host the likes of WSW and maybe even GWS as well. If big stadiums are the go, it would be better to play at one in one of our heartlands IMO.

WSW already have Parra which is getting an upgrade to 50K- that's more than plenty.

GWS have Skoda which they hardly get any crowds atm (maybe due to the location)

ANZ is very close to our other heartlands- Ashfield, Lidcombe and Leichardt.
