Congradulations to the Storm. Just about a 100% game. After tonight, if K. Waters is available, WT would be mad not to sign him.
He has played for the Broncos, QLD, Australia as well as working under the 2 best coahes every. If he is avaialble and we dont sign him the board should be sacked immediatley.
Cheers
Maggie

Yea I'd give him a 2 year deal but just hope he doesn't turn out like Steven Kearney

Big difference between head coach and assistant coach, but perhaps he's worth a shot. Would still prefer Folkes though.

Yeah I agree…..the CV isnt everything...I imagine Folkes price tag is quite a bit higher than a rookies

There could be a reason why there hasn't been an announcement made yet. I don't think our coach-elect would be very pleased if we announced him as our man while he was prepairing for a gf

The other being if Sheens get the Warriors gig

That will decide this whole box and dice game

The only thing I worry about with Kevy Walters is that his larrikin type of personality might not suit a head coaching role.
In saying that, to captain your club and state, his coaches obviously believed he had leadership skills to be a good captain and maybe behind his larrikin personality, there is a very good leader and mentor.

walters hated the tigers , cant come in on a pretend i love this team , please he is a queenslander and a wanker , steve folkes , is you answer , tough wiled , no shit coach

And you know him personally to make a statement like that , do you ??

I'm sure Sheens hated playing Balmain and Wests ,Hasler probably hated playing the Dogs etc etc etc

Bennett is a Queenslander, Bellamy isnt a Victorian and Cleary was an Aussie coaching in NZ…

I heard he had a soft spot for Wests, so i guess that evens out then doesn't it

you are almost a complete dumb a,se , if you realy loved this club you would be looking for somebody to go to the next level , not bring in a person that hated this club , and bring us down lower than we are now , ooops you are from the other side , you are from the western suberbs side , so you are always around low sides that get beat by a ttruck load , so mit would be a good fit

lol, so a new coach wanting to establish himself as a first grade coach will come to us to deliberately sabotage our club?

Former opinions and allegiances are irrelevant in this professional era, i don't care if our new coach was a former balmain man, or a former hater. All that matters is if he can manage our football department well and build the club to win premierships and achieve top 4 finishes.

As for Walters, while he doesn't seem the worst of candidates, the fact that he focuses on only the attack as a Storm coach is a concern. Also modern coaches are more along the lines of managers and its about not only themselves but also how they run the entire football department (including support staff). The modern trend is towards building a professional culture within the club and bringing it together as one with every part coming together to help improve the on field performances.

shit! i didnt realise my option would create the childish responses it did by some.
As for the Kearny comparison he was nothing on Walters as a player. As for being a larrikin maybe that's what we need. Tim served us well but he post match interviews were always so serious.
Walters has been around this game at the most elite level for many years and i am sure has learnt more from Bellamy and Bennett than a neville like Parish would ever bring to the club
Go the under 20's
Cheers Maggie

Christ Maggie! Pot, kettle, black, much mate???

"childish responses"

"neville like Parish"

I reckon Folkes is the way to go, has been at the elite level before no reason he cant do it again. Our mysterious lack of cash would probably be the hurdle for him. A rookie in Walters would be top pick of the rookies due to his constant presence around the elite, Brissy, Qld, Oz and Melbourne. Winning culture breeds winners. Could be the way to go?
