A coaches job is to get the best from his players - havnt seen the Kiwis play with that much intensity for a long time. Good job from Maguire.

That was the point of my Maguire just may know how to coach comment.
The kiwis played with such passion and as you say intesity, something they haven't done in quite some time, and the coach owns that

And that is a one off which the Kiwis have always had the capacity to achieve,. The day to day grind of NRL football is very different.

I have no dog in this fight but didn't he win a premiership?

Had to grind away all season. Dumb comment.

:unamused: :unamused:

He's talking about the Warriors in the NRL basically the Kiwi side with a few ring ins not Madge..and he's right ..they don't handle the grind of NRL week in week out..

Wise up..

Will Chambers is having a good laugh tonight. Mitchell is a poser.

Agreed. He is overrated - especially defensively.

I can't stand Johns' commentary. He goes into orgasms of delight whenever Mitchell touches the ball. But he doesn't notice when Manu beats him one on one to score and then when Mitchell fails to lock Manu up and Manu gets a great pass away for Rapana to score. Mitchell also dropped the ball in space and the Kiwis scored in the next set of six.

I'd have him at WTs in a flash… Overrated lol... It wasn't his night, he wasn't on his pat

Yeah it wasn't his night but he was still the most dangerous player in attack for Australia. He got beaten a couple of times by Manu playing out of his skin. It happens. Doesn't make him crap or overrated.

Not one word about the Warriors in this whole thread. Back to sleep Geo.

The first try disallowed surely was a bad decision. Of course the middle of the inflated ball touches the ground first - and that was in the field of play, a split second before the outside of the ball touches the touchline, so should been a try. I barracked for the Kiwis after that.

So would I - but, I still think he's overrated. Doesn't mean he's not a very good player.

Highly doubt Chambers was having a laugh. He would still be laying on his therapist's couch in the foetal position sobbing about the 80 minute turkey-slapping Latrell gave him in the biggest game of the year. He embarrassed him  . And then basically took his spot in the Test team. Poor Will, couldnt happen to a better bloke.

Manu's defence was aslo found wanting in the first 15 mins when Australia ran everything at the Kiwis right side. Holmes try came from very bad defence by both Manu and Rapana. They blew another try down that side about 5 mins later when both Manu and Rapana drifted in again leaving Mitchell unmarked. It was lucky the Kiwis controlled possesion from that point on as Aust could have run up 20 points down that side with an even share of the ball. Having said that Manu played all over Mitchell.

You'r right. But the Kiwis defensive problems were more to do with lack of understanding and mis-reads in defence. That was probably a consequence of lack of game time together. On the other hand, Mitchell was struggling to cope with Manu one-on-one, such that Manu, heavily marked, scored on try (that wasn't on) and set up another (that wasn't on).

Of the two young Roosters, it was Manu who came out of the test with his reputation enhanced.
