Keebra park

Keebra beat Illawarra 38-18 to advance to the GIO Schoolboy Final. Think they [play Patrician Brothers.

Haven't seen a match review yet, but from twitter it appeared that once again it was mostly players contracted to the WT for next year doing all the scoring!

Seve got at least 1, but Iroa the winger got a hat trick I think. With the fullback and second rower Liolevave both getting tries too.

Well done boys! Bring home the cup!

They're a WT feeder club, so of course we can Happy! They're all kiwis in any case, don't think a single player on their team was born in Australia. So yes LaT, true Queensladers!

Most of the kids are kiwis aren't they?

So yeah, basically QLD I guess.

Taken you a few years LaT , but you finally worked it out

If we want them they are Qlders ,if we don't their all yours until we tell you otherwise

Simple enough for you all :unamused:

Keebra get shot at second major title
>
KEEBRA Park will play for the right to be crowned the best schoolboy side in the country after beating Illawarra Sports High 38-18 in their GIO Cup semi-final at Pizzey Park yesterday.
>
Keebra overcame a nervous start and a poor ending to the first half to reach their sixth national schoolboys final.
>
They will take on Patrician Brothers College Blacktown next Wednesday in Sydney, looking to add to the title they won in 2009.
>
The scoreline flattered the Gold Coast side, who conceded two tries in the last five minutes before the break to allow their rivals back into the match.
>
After setting up an 18-4 lead through tries to winger Jamion Iroa, halfback Brayden McMahon and fullback Sione Alofi, Keebra paid for a patchy defensive lapse, with Illawarra clawing the deficit back to six points at half-time.
>
``We just lost our way a little bit and I think the nerves got to us a little bit in the first half,'' Keebra coach Greg Lenton said.
>
``A lot of these guys are playing 20s football (Holden Cup) and play a lot more football than we do.
>
``There's always a few nerves there and that showed in the first half. We didn't defend as well as we needed to and we just didn't protect our lead.
>
``We had some discussion at half-time about that and they came out in the second half and turned it around.''
>
Centre Marion Seve's try in the opening minutes of the second term pushed the lead back out to 12 points, although the visitors hit back, capitalising on another Keebra mistake.
>
The Gold Coast boys tightened the screws in the final 20 minutes, picking up their defensive intensity and completing their sets better to shut Illawarra out of the match.
>
Workaholic lock Kelly Tate led the Keebra defence with some big hits, setting the tone for his fellow forwards, the Coast boys forcing errors which allowed them to seal the match with three unanswered tries in the final 15 minutes of the match.
>
Winger Jamion Iroa notched a hat-trick by adding a second-half double and captain Lamar Liolavave sealed man-of-the-match honours with his try from a neat short ball from five-eighth Te Martin running on the last tackle.

3 and 13 looked good. The 5/8 was involved in everything, is he a chance of partnering Moses in 20's next year?

The final of the GIO Cup is on at 2.00pm today, I believe.

The replay is on Fox Sports 1 at 11.15am Saturday.

There is another replay on Fox Sports 1 at 1.00am on Thursday 26th September.

Go Keebra!

The rain seems to be holding off and with a dry track we could see Keebra run away with it. Won't be an easy game though, and playing outside of QLD for the first time could be a challenge but a lot of these boys will be playing in Sydney soon enough!
