I have seen this guy around at a couple of our home games. What a champion. I think the tigers should nearly pay some of those greats of our club to show up and talk to the fans. He was defiantly a star judging buy the photo and autograph attention. Good to see anyway.

Kerry Hemsley was always a personal favourite of mine. Still remember him getting sent off at Leichhardt against the Sharks. Loved Kevin Hardwick - the kind of great clubman that is sadly a thing of the past now.

Kerry Hemsley was one of my favourites as well! when i first started going for balmain as a kid i loved how tough he played - and looked! it looked like they had gone out and grabbed the toughest bikie they could one day! he was awesome.

i can still remember him on the cover of RLW with other hirsute notables noel cleal and… the souths guy with the ginger hair...cant remember his name atm, they were all dressed as bushrangers and it wouldnt surprise me to hear they all headed straight to the roughest bar after the shoot! :laughing:

makes no sense, why would you not use the stars associated with the club from both sides of the joint venture to promote the club??
Obviously the likes of Mark O'neil etc should be used if available.

If the likes of Pearce, Roach, Sironen, keith barnes from the tigers or Keith Holman, Trevor Cogger, Bruce Clarke, Arthur Summons from Wests are likely to draw people to the ground why not use them.

As a tigers fan who grew up in the 80's the likes of Pearce , Roach etc are my heros, and when I see them I turn into a little kid,if they were at West tigers function id be more likely to attend, and Im sure a Wests fan would be inclined if there child hood favourites were at a function.

Not to be a smart Alec, but I think you'll find the cover was Kerry Hemsley, Geoff Robinson and Gary Hambly ( Big Ginger from the 'toes)

What a legend as a young pup growing up in the 80's he was my hero . I still have a jumper with him on it I got when I was about 4 . My neighbor from back then still tells the story of how I introduced myself as Kerry Hemsley . I even had the mullet to .

My old man used to work with John Davidsons old man and was mates with Garry Bridge . Wow what an era of talent for balmain back then . Even the maggys had some greats back then to cogger Blair and the big Garbo Angelo alavangeler or something like that

I saw Sirro at the Tigers members day the other, he is and will always be my favourite player. Was so excited to finally get a photo with the great man! My missus reckons I turned into a 10 year old in a heartbeat.

anything that draws a crowd should be welcomed , former wests tigers players and former balmain and wests players should be asked to attend and premote our new club , , no wests tigers player has reached tommys or blockers heights yet , more funds for our club, more money for better facilities , players etc bring on the crowds , pack the grounds to the rafters

Dont know about paying these guys to promote our games, but great to see ex players that still love the game long after their playing days.

I see Buckets at most LO games, usually at the Orange Grove Pub before the game than of course the Harley is always right outside the front door in Mary street. He is a top bloke, never changed, still willing to have a chat with the punters,still got the mullet and is in pretty good shape.

Quick story
He worked under my Dad at Sydney County Council (electrician) for a while. He came in one day asking to leave early as he had a meeting with Keith Barnes (if I recall correctly) about his contract renewal or upgrade. He told Dad with a cheeky grin "little do they know, I'd play for nothing, actually I'd pay them to keep playing for Balmain".
