No matter which way you dissect it - WT is a unique club with 12 years of its own history + 200 years of combined history through magpies and balmain.

Wests Tigers was created as a legacy of both Balmain and Wests to live on at NRL level.

While its technically a new club, it has more history than ANY other rugby league club in Australia.

WT play at LO purely for the history and tradition of Balmain (obviously not for facilities, comfort, transport and corporate $$) so be careful to those who wish to 'throw out' the history of WT.

I would be stoked to see Siro, Pearce, Hemsley combined with Tommy, Cogger Skando used more often. These guys are the faces of how the WT we made. My thoughts exactly, Im in my 30's and my childhood heros are Siro, Pearce, Blocker, Jack and alike, if they are involved im more than likely to be involved. And I love seeing the ex west players get involved as well, and Im sure Wests fans of my age have Magpie heros from the 80's and are likely to go to something if there favourite Magpie was there.

We need former WT at our games. Former Balmain players did nothing for me then and do absolutely nothing for me now. Being an old Magpie supporter I'm sure old Balmain fans feel the same about our past. Apart from heritage round, Balmain and Magpies are extinct. WT greats are the 05 squad not Tommy or Blocker.

It's about doing things for the people who pay to get in. I'm not suggesting they over do it but a hell of a lot of people enjoy watching old players parade around the ground. It's not their fault their clubs don't exist in the NRL anymore. What are they supposed to do? Never get acknowledged ever again? People on this forum would know I'm not one to wallow in the past but you can't ignore it completely either.

If it does nothing to you I suggest you use the time to attend to other business.

We have heritage round for all things Magpies and Balmain.

The rest of the time we need to leeave those oldies alone in their in their retirement homes.
We as Wests Tigers have grown up….we need to forge our own identity not keep stepping back and holding mum and dads hand.

We should wear the inaugural WTs jersey for heritage round.

I remember Humpty saying something about ''letting go of the past to an extent'' when discussing the jerseys....so much for that idea huh?

WT > balmain/ magpies. we are starting to make our own history, no matter how short. you dont wanna ignore the balmain/ magpies' past, i dont either, we should acknowledge our history if we have any but the history of WT takes precedence over them.

what do you do with legends of pies/balmain? have one day for em, but the main event should be the heritage of WT.

Totally agreed Ink, it's about time we we used inaugural Wests Tigers jerseys for heritage rounds and use players like O'Neil, Skando, Hodgo, Ken McGuiness, Darren Senter and Ben Galea to promote Wests Tigers games instead of old Balmain and Wests players.
