Kevie at 1 next year?

As first choice - not a chance.
Terrible under a high ball and poor positionally.
Would be happy to keep him around as an ISP player and one of the first backups for any of the outside backs, but no more than that.

Why not, I'm still not sure Lolohea will be a good fullback anyway. Taking a gamble on this guy, has he ever even played fullback?

And you are sure Kev will be a good full back????

Who knows, but he showed a lot of promise last night and for his country earlier in the year, so that's twice he has impressed there now, whereas I've never seen Lolohea play fullback! I just wish Cleary had gone on the hunt for a specialist fullback to replace Tedesco instead of gambling with a utility player who might go ok there. It's too important a position to experiment with, imo.

Well Lolohea has played more than 20 NRL games at fullback including a number of man of the match performances, so I'd say fullback is his specialist position. He has a hell of a lot more pedigree there than Kevin Naiqama that's for sure…

Nelson is on it… Tui hasnt even hit his straps yet, and Im not talking about potential Brooks and Moses style. He was pushed out by Foran and RTS, dropped to reggies to try turn him into a winger because he was too good to keep out of FG. He will get back to his former form, and seems to be alot more composed which is quietly impressing me, he had that warriors brain snap in him.

Right now Tui is the new kid with what 2 weeks with the squad, played with 2 different halves, in a position he wouldnt have trained in for at least one pre-season and he is already an upgrade on Moses. I get the vibe from him he is naturally a quieter person, so probably plays into him not getting as much ball as he should...

Kid is a natural footballer, and will do us proud at FB. Mark my words.

absolutely. Tui is definitely not a 5/8\. once he gets some match fitness and moves to fullback full time, he will kill it

Yep, I guess not many people have actually seen him play all that much. Was awesome playing under Andrew McFadden.

If our recruitment drive has proven anything about this forum, its proven a lot of people here don't watch a lot of games outside of ours. Lolohea played over 50 games for the Warriors.

I'm a fan of Naiqama but I doubt that he would do well at fullback. Still he would be handy to have around in case Lolohea doesn't live up to expectations.

No bloody way. Kev played near his peak last night and was …good. No where near dynamic enough to be a full time number 1.

We needed a 5/8th and goal kicker right away, and we may need Tui at fullback next year. It was the right buy from the available cattle. We still have room in the cap if a more likely specialist becomes available. As it is we already have competition for backline places in 2018.

Spud why are you writing off Lolo when you clearly know very little about him? Comparing Kev and Tui as fullbacks is almost ignorant.

Agreed. Some bizaare player assessments are being made lately. The recruitment is going well.

I would love to keep Kev but not as a starting fullback.

He would be a great backup as he brings energy and experience to the team. He is not quite good enough to be our 1st choice fullback but I hope he stays at Concord for a few more years.

But if the ESL offer him a decent contract I hope that we are smart enough not to place a big offer on him.

Compared to the fullbacks the 15 other NRL clubs can put on the field Naquima would be near the bottom echelon.

True, I don't have Foxtel and the Warriors are rarely on free to air, so no I haven't seen a lot of them in recent years.

Look I don't really care about the past, all I know is that Lolohea can't crack a spot in the current Warriors first grade team and that doesn't fill me with much confidence about his abilities. Hopefully he proves me wrong, but I would've rather Cleary gone for a specialist to fill the fullback spot, as i think it's too important a position to leave to chance.

As for Kev, well he certainly seems to play better at the back than he does in the three quarter line that's for sure, but there is no way I would want him to be our fullback next year. Maybe keep him for depth, but I was just agreeing with the OP that he showed some promise there that is all.

Anyone else impressed with what they've seen of Kev at the back?
I thought he was solid for his country and has also been good for us when playing there.

He was OK but got caught out of position in defense a number of times. Particular of note was the winning Cronulla try.

Seriously what game were you watching …he never looked like breaking a tackle ..just ran to the defence and surrended ...esl is where he belongs ..not in an nrl number 1 jersey

Agree with all you say B & W and they can mark my words as well - "He'll be a little ripper".

OK after watching tonight's game I think it's only fair that I apologise for this thread.
Kevie tricked me into thinking that he was a first grader and could possibly be our no1 but I've come to my senses. Enjoy the UK Kev.

He is just hopeless.
Does not attack the ball.
Flyers like a ballerina to catch the ball with his hands by his sides.
And his positional play in defence … as a fullback ... just no idea.
And to think someone suggested we resign him and play him as fb next year ...??L
