Key appointments aim to end Tigers mess

As someone else earlier in the thread alluded to, the board has clearly made an effort to get on the better side of News Ltd. You’d have to assume that involved giving increased access.

Does this mean hartigan will be sacked?

I hope not. He’s the one positive in the club at the moment

If sheens job is recruitment what’s hartigan job? If players are the issue he hasn’t been doing his job properly.

Doesn’t make sense isn’t sheens job what hartigan meant to be doing?

I don’t think the roster is the issue. it’s not amazing, but it’s the best roster we’ve had in a few years.

Agree the roster has improved, but in the forwards only'.
Laurie is talented but not a top class FB.
Nouffa, good and bad.
AD, a decent footballer, but not a 5/8 or centre.
JL, - soon gone.
Mbye, no commitment-soon gone.
Jtj- doubtfull he offers much.

We can't be a serious football side with this backline.

I like Paul Kent's question ...do you see a player in your GF side

How many WT's are in your GF side .....answer ...very few if any

Surely Tim will be taking the coaching job.

Funnily enough if these changes were implemented when Sheens was still coach, we'd have been a much more successful side. He was ahead of the game.

I'm just shocked to see so many journos being nice to us. What's going on here?

They are not being nice to us. They are all just so anxious to publicise how bad the club is going, Frankly the less publicity at this stage all the better, Souths didn't get much publicity when they were recently thrashed by Storm and neither did Parramatta when they were thrashed a couple of weeks ago,

Wests Tigers will recover from the lweekend loss just as souths and Parramatta have,

Laurie, Maumalo, Doueihi, Brooks, Twal, Luciano (if he gets his act together), Ofahengaue, Blore, Stefano, Seyfarth is who I'd have... Brooks is incredibly divisive on here but he's not a player that should be on the chopping block.

then there's the what if's in Simpkins, Simpkin, Tuilagi, Ogden, Tumeth, Pole etc etc

our edges are the issue. fix those and we're a far better football side than we showed on Saturday night.

"AD a decent footballer, but not a 5/8 or centre"? What position is he going to play? He wasn't a total success as fullback.

Let's be honest Roberts is well past his prime and I am sure that he knows that. He will ask for an extension into 2022. If he gets the extension I the club is continuing to cut its own throat.

he's on $150k this year, next year it goes up to $200k. I think he'll be extended simply for that reason. $200k says he's a depth player, which is exactly what he is at this point in his career.

Talau has completely lost his way. Leilua needs no explanation. Hoffman and Kei aren't the prospects we thought they were. we have no decent centres at the club right now, except for Doueihi who is better at 6 and Kepaoa who is out for the season. Gildart is going to take a fair while to adapt and players like Ogden and Fuatimau are still 18 months away at a minimum. letting Momirovski go continues to be a head scratcher for mine.

Sheens is pathways not recruitment

I don't understand why some people haven't grasped this yet?

Have u seen todays articles ?

Yes, that's newspapers trying to sell copy, for me, unless its on the WT site, its not happening? Do honestly think Hartigan would hang around if this was true?

Did you read it there were direct quotes in smh too. It’s fact sheens first job is to shape the first grade squad

"it's fact" because the SMH said so, doesn't really mean much to me. Things may change in the future, but it's not what he was originally signed up for?

Ok mate ignore the fact that they were direct quotes from Pascoe and lee.

Pull the quotes mate, stop just saying "they said XYZ".

Here is Pascoe's quote in today's SMH
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/miracle-worker-required-sheens-new-job-just-got-a-lot-tougher-at-tigers-20210620-p582lf.html
>“His gravitas in the game is second to none,” Pascoe said. “His experience, knowledge and the fact he’s been in winning environments all helps. Him coming in and identifying talent, helping with that whole pathways and development program … you can see how valuable he’ll be.”

And Lee from the NRL website - this is the only article I can find on nrl.com, via Tigers website
https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2021/06/05/wests-tigers-appoint-tim-sheens-as-head-of-football-performance/
>The appointment of Tim, coupled with the recent appointments in our pathways programs, affirms the Board’s commitment to engaging the best people who will add value to our organisation in promoting and developing the game of rugby league from grass roots to the elite level

There's nothing about Sheens being the recruitment person, except of course he'll have his mitts all over the juniors and they may bring him in to other work as well, giving him the "floating" capacity they mentioned.

I wish the club would be as direct as the journalist

“But let’s cut to the chase: his first job will be to get into the club’s football program and find players who can help turn the club around.”

Is that a quote of the journalist? If so....who cares what he thinks?

Yeah confusing article but like the the club

The fact is we have conceded over 100 points in the last 2 games. It's abundantly clear we need help pretty desperately. If that's from Sheens, great, if not we need it from somewhere. We're digging ourselves a grave at the moment by maintaining the status quo. Big changes needed.

I’m not saying we don’t have problems. But look in the right places, instead of going for one blokes throat.

Some of the players playing today, were still in nappies when Sheens glory days were here. BTW he got punted not long after that for his sheenius ideas?

Only coach in clubs history to get us into finals, right now I will take sheenius ideas over the current no ideas coach

BTW, Madge got Souths to a premiership as well.

Sheens is pathways not recruitment

I don't understand why some people haven't grasped this yet?

Have u seen todays articles ?

Yes, that's newspapers trying to sell copy, for me, unless its on the WT site, its not happening? Do honestly think Hartigan would hang around if this was true?

Did you read it there were direct quotes in smh too. It’s fact sheens first job is to shape the first grade squad

"it's fact" because the SMH said so, doesn't really mean much to me. Things may change in the future, but it's not what he was originally signed up for?

The fact is we have conceded over 100 points in the last 2 games. It's abundantly clear we need help pretty desperately. If that's from Sheens, great, if not we need it from somewhere. We're digging ourselves a grave at the moment by maintaining the status quo. Big changes needed.

I’m not saying we don’t have problems. But look in the right places, instead of going for one blokes throat.

I'm not saying he's the only one who needs to go
