I'm really pleased you mentioned... "it can also be lighthearted and not offensive"... as it gives me the opportunity to mention I had a post deleted, and I was suspended for the use of the word "twerp" that someone thought was apparently "extreme derogatory" rather than "lighthearted and not offensive".
And in my case, there was absolutely nothing in the wording of the post that could suggest I was using it to put someone down.

Surely you can’t get suspended from the forum for using a nothing term like ‘twerp’ 🤔

I get that the Mods don’t always appreciate the views @BZN espouses - but c’mon !

Immature for sure, but hardly the crime of the century. More than likely our players were getting a gob full all game from those same fans and adrenaline got the better of them.

The Naden thing after the game was absolutely brain dead though to carry on

I am Lebanese and the Bulldogs fans got exactly what the deserved. If they can throw bottles at players, officials and swear at players and rival fans, then they can take a little hand gesture. So lets all give the Bulldog fans a bIg ole' KHAWD and help wipe their tears away

Benny Elias, they keep saying he a tiger great , yet he has done nothing put bag our club .
1) he blamed all the Galvin thing on players and the club , and his relative Moses was a great man ,
2) not a nice word about what happened with the finger , just crap again on the team and the club , YES the boys where wrong but the dogs , are no saints
He should never be mentioned again as a tiger great , out and out grub

The alternative way of seeing bd benny is; he is a sad old hasbeen popping up and squeaking whenever he spies the slightest opportunity to appear relevant. Even though Wests Tigers have moved on beyond the old balmain days, they are his only link to any public recognition. Sad old man.

What most seem to be ignoring with regard Hand Gesture-Gate is the racial element. Had Adam Doueihi and Alex Twal been the players in question I don’t see much drama. Yet we had players of non Arabic heritage using an Arabic hand gesture to say “up yours” to a group of fans with Arabic heritage. This adds a racially mocking dimension to the episode. Imagine a trio of white dudes mimicking spear throwing at an aboriginal section of the crowd etc ...

As for comments about Bulldog fans deserving it. Trouble there is you can’t lump them all in together. Some Canterbury fans carry on like pork chops but others are fine.

Anyway, no one died. Hopefully our boys have learnt a lesson with regards cultural sensitivities and we all move on 👍

Thats right mate. Somebody mentioned the other day he is upset or carries on because the club has nothing to do with him. You've got to ask the question why would they? I never hear him say a positive word about the place, and I acknowledge there has been many deserved criticisms, but Benny has ulterior motives all the time. Any chance he gets he sticks the boot in, then has the hyde to say "we" when talking about the club. I'm sure there would be plenty of current players and admin that wouldn't want the hypocritical little prick to be allowed anywhere near the place either.

Here we go with twisting everything into racism. They want to bring their culture to mock us, but we can't mock them in the language they understand...sorry mate...so far off it's not funny. You must work in HR? Or the government...
