Kiefy and Lawry

Lawrence has been a lot better than Michael Jennings… Keith probably didn't deserve a spot this time but I wouldn't see he isn't up to playing SOO even in game 1\. Apart from Gallen none of the NSW props have ever bent the line with any consitency. Maybe TLL but he gets overlooked too. For a team that has so much trouble making ground it is an odd side. Doesn't matter how good Carney or Pearce are if they've got no room to move. Let's hope Tamou and Merrin can do a job but if one of them gets injured things could get ugly.

I thought Jennings has been playing ok - he got punted because he is butting heads with the wrong people at Penrith.
Love Lawrence as a player but he has been at about 30% this year and I can't work out why.
He has to be carrying an injury, you can see by the strapping , but it's his poor reads in defence (like rushing out of the line) and simple missed tackles that are a problem he NEVER had last year.
Hope for his sake and the Tigers he gets it right soon.

I think Sticky doesn't look at stats; it also seems to be that the Wests Tigers seem to be on his 's#!t list'. If Farah had to fight as hard as what he did to prove to the selectors he's better then Ennis, it's not saying a lot for any of the other boys.

I'd say we are on that list because we are a side that very, very rarely plays a "brutal" game of footy.

As opposed to say Parra, Penrith, and the Gold Coast? We've made top 4 last 2 years, and even this year looks bad we've hardly being getting towelled up week in week out. I don't buy this team form business but it is plainly obvious you're a much better chance playing for some clubs over others.

I didn't say i agree with the selections. I think our style of footy doesn't provide our players with the opportunity to demonstrate that if game is not a free flowing affair, and is more about big hits and grinding and bashing and barging your way to victory, Wests Tigers are hardly the team that comes to mind. Yes we finished top 4 two years in a row, but particularly last year we weren't able to go on with it when we should have against the Warriors when the game got tight.
There's an easy fix, win the big games continuously and all of a sudden our players are regarded much more highly for pressure situations. QLD forwards have dominated us for 6 years straight, and until we start winning those forward battles that will continue. If you had the choice of 1 player in the forwards who is genuinely tough enough and can put on some hits from us…......it wouldn't be a bloke that can play because he is a Pommy.

i think you are 100% on the money chris is not playing as well as last year to me he has lost a lot of pace and as you say missing tackles could the hip injury he had last year have some thing to do with his form i hope he comes good soon great player

No he hasn't. No way in the world.

Well he has in my opinion.

Take off your Tiger glasses:

Jennings: 8 games. 6 offloads, 6 line-breaks, 85 tackles with 11 missed, 10 errors, 103 runs for 999 metres.

Lawrence: 9 games. 2 offloads, 2 line-breaks, 154 tackles with 22 missed, 14 errors, 89 runs for 733 metres.

There is no way Lawrence has played better than Jennings this year.

Lawrence is a better player than Jennings every day in the week and twice on Sundays.

Jennings (reserve grade), Hayne (should be reserve grade), Bird, off the bench for the Titans, Creagh (ordinary for the Saints), Merrin (ordinary for the Saints), Williams (out for the last what? five weeks?).

Queensland will win this one in a canter. Farah will be left holding the can again for these ordinary selections.

Merrin has been outstanding for the Stain.

Jennings earnt his right at incumbancy in last years series and has done nothing to lose it this season in terms of performance.

It was always between Morris and Rowdy for the right centre slot and whilst Ricky has great confidence that either player could have handled the job the form of Josh Morris has been utterly superb in the last month

On current form both do not deserve to be picked.

Woods will be picked next year.

Could not have said it better myself. Though Woods might get a call up this year for the 3rd if its 2-0 Qld.

I agree they both do not deserve to be picked so I have no problems with it. Woods might make the team next season. On current form he deserves a spot but I think the selectors should wait another year before picking him.

That is debatable in itself but on this years form Lawrence is lucky to be playing first grade, let alone State of Origin. He has been dreadful all year and Jennings despite being dropped to Windsor he has had a far better season than Lawrence in an appalling side and deserves selection.

No other centre aside from Lyon who doesn't want to play rep football has put his hand up for selection for NSW.

Hayne and Jennings are both proven Origin performers. IIRC Jennings was in crap form last year and was one of NSW's best. Hayne has been the best NSW outside back over the past four years and people don't want him picked? Who would you replace him with? Brett Morris? That will really strike fear into QLD…

Merrin has been great for the Dragons.

IMO the only questionable selections are Creagh and Buhrer. Replace Creagh with Watmough or T.Sims and Buhrer with a prop (Mannah or Woods) and it is just about the best side they could have picked.

Like I said. MY OPINION! Remember we're allowed to have them… My thoughts are that Jennings has had a few reasonable games near the start but has struggled to be involved lately.

Lawrence is the opposite. Poor at the beginning but starting to look better lately. Scored a nice try on the inside run a couple of weeks back.

Yet both have somehow managed to completely play themselves out of a NSW jersey. I know Keith missed a few games, but he's back for a couple of weeks now and absolutely no one (not even on here) talked about him as a NSW prop.

i think this is where your wrong..

they didnt play themselves out of the jersey, they just didnt play their way in…

both had injuries which hampered the progress for each...

I disagree mate. Lawry was marked down ages ago for that Blues jersey. It was his. He's basically been so bad this season that he's forced himself 'out'.

We will agree to disagree.

Indeed… Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Lawrence has been on fire but Jennings has hardly been great either. Things are pretty grim for NSW in the centres...

Lucky they are only marking some very average centers from Queensland…...

Yeah some scrubber who plays fullback for the Bunnies and a hamstring injury prone Bronco who wouldn't remember his SOO debut with any relish

Jennings and Morris should blitz Qld out wide

Actually the Qld 1-7 is pretty shoddy
