Kitione Kautoga #261

Interesting to see Doueihi finally show some toe, fullback shouldn’t be out of the question if he can maintain that speed.
I agree could we try douhie again at 1 next year
He had a great game today showed plenty of speed to save that try. Just one knock on these things happen unfortunately can't hang hom for that

Said it before but how Gardiner
didn't get the gig is astounding,
especially when you consider the
fact that Noddy was pulled from
pathways, an area that we're
allegedly trying to strengthen,
with no coaching experience over
a man who took us to the top 4
in Reggies and has coached half
the players already. Truly inept.
Yes, no coincidence Cows game was our best...Noddy out / Gardiner in.

2021 state cup team under Gardiner was out best in ages also. Actual patterns and plays both sides of the ball.

Bench Noddy.. way out of his depth.. am I right in saying he'll be back in flegg next week for their knock out semi..? Noddy would've known this and still only gave him 3 min.. 🙄

I can only assume it was because Gardiner is one of Madges men

Do you think he showed speed or was it a case of a ford laser beating a holden barina?
As long as the Laser is chasing, rather than eyeballing his team-mates, then I am happy.

Not happy though, like everyone else, with the way they used, no make that abused the kid, on debut this afternoon.

Ben Gardiner was never going to get the gig for the rest of the year because he was being shown the door at the end of the season.

It's pretty obvious that the fear was that he would get results with a sub standard team for the remainder of this season and possibly make Sheens and co. look bad if the results weren't forthcoming next year.

Noddy was a fool to take it on and should have realized he was being set up. All concerned should be embarrassed after what Gardiner achieved when he was put in charge for the Cowboys game.

They never thought that there would be a situation arise where Gardiner would get an opportunity like he did with the Cowboys game.

But he never gave up, unlike last week. I was very happy with the chase, last week it would have been a try.
Yeah totally agree with you. The effort today was miles ahead of last week. I just don’t think he’s quick and he was made to look quick because he was chasing someone really slow.

Disappointing sounds like he didn't get a run?

Did he get a chance to show anything apart from the drop ball?
No...

Saints twice were down to twelve...once last 8 mins first half.

Perfect chance to throw him on.

Instead, Noddy sent him on at 22-22 after we just lost all momentum and a dumb play had left the whole team stunned...going from up 8 to level.

Worst possible time you could throw a kid in...a seasoned vet would have found it hard.

2.5 mins to go in a locked game...throw on a rookie.

Unfortunately, he dropped his first ball.

Noddy is a great bloke...

Noddy is not an NRL coach...

There is discussion in the KOE thread about him and rightfully so, he had a great game yesterday. Just wanted to see if anyone has any confirmation if he is going to the dogs? I hate how we only gave him 3 minutes last year, I know he is on a development contract but would love to see him play next week.
