on NSW State of Origin forward David Klemmer in a boxing bout.

Tallis criticised Klemmer after the Canterbury youngster seemed to have a running battle with most of the Maroons’ pack in the second Origin clash at the MCG.

“I didn’t run in and push people and stand there and do all that,” Tallis said on Triple M.

“Everybody forgets, I never ran in and pushed. Yeah, I did punch people when they got in my face. He (Klemmer) would’ve been one of them, 100 per cent.”

New Zealand-based Duco Events is prepared to pay Tallis to punch Klemmer in Hamilton on December 5 in their annual Fight for Life charity boxing show, which has previously featured league stars including Blues captain Paul Gallen, Sam Thaiday and Willie Mason.

“We would like to offer Gorden the opportunity to fight against David Klemmer,” Duco Events director David Higgins told AAP on Thursday.

David Klemmer gets some early training in, just in case.

“We will pay Gorden $50,000 Australian and we will pay for his training expenses.

“The fight will be (over) three two-minute rounds, wearing headgear and 16-ounce gloves, so it’s got a very safe track record — there’s no dramas.

“It’s really a test of skill and fitness. It’s up to Gorden.”

Duco’s unbeaten world-ranked New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker (14-0) will fight his first major Australian opponent, with Bowie Tupou (25-3) meeting the rising Kiwi star on August 1 in Invercargill.

Higgins said Duco’s Australian welterweight Jeff Horn (10-0-1), who will fight Ukraine’s Victor Plotnykov on the same card, had climbed to No.10 in the WBO rankings after his latest win earlier this month in Palmerston North.

GOD I WANNA PUNCH TALLIS!!

Gordy Nohoper gets $50,000 - What does Klemmer get for his trouble.

Apart from seeing Gordy Nohoper sail out of the ring on the end of an uppercut.

Oh! how I wish. Then see Hodgo drag him out into the street and p… on him.

this reminds me of someone putting a challenge to mark geyer not that long ago. cant remember who or when but geyer made a (surprisingly!) intelligent remark in that he is old and not a boxer.

ridiculous proposition to have a guy tallis' age jump in the ring with someone like klemmer. 16 ounce gloves, headgear…sure quite safe, but still stupid imo.

then again, i'd get knocked out for $50k!! guess if it makes money for a good cause and tallis can handle the ego belting why not? not like he can really get that much dumber?

personally, im way more interested in parker. looks like a real prospect if he can keep it up and progress well.

speaking of, how is corey patterson going? has he put his boxing on hold after going to the uk?

Whys everyone so quick to write Tallis off? Whats so special about Klemmer?

Tallsis is probably one of thy hardest men to play in t modern era (god I hate him). I'd love to see I'm and Klemmer go toe to toe. Lets see what Klemmer is made of

Tallis must have this time of year pencilled in annually to come out and say trash talk to get himself in the papers.
Last year it was Farah, this year it's Klemmer.
I'd love to see him get put on his ass.

being in a ring is very different to a spur of the moment biff like in a game of league where you just go hell for leather for a short period. there is no doubting tallis was a beast, but my reasoning has everything to do with fitness.

boxers (and mma fighters) would have to be some of the fittest athletes there are and in my opinion unless klemmer is completely tactically clueless tallis would be gassed in a minute and a human heavy bag….

one thing about heavyweights is that one punch can end the bout, but the whole thing is just so heavily weighted against him. even if tallis did connect - and i have no doubt in normal conditions he could easily knock pretty much anyone out - the headgear and huge gloves would make it very difficult for him to land a knockout blow.

Time to grow up Gorden, you're not a dopey 20 year old out to prove how macho he is - you're an older bloke now, show some maturity for God's sake!

Lol… Gordon isn't a Boxer.

Have it at the Coogee Bay Hotel. Give Tallis and Klemmer 20 Schooners each, make Klemmer walk up and push Tallis in the face and see what happens.

I have a fair idea what the outcome will be!

King hit from behind,,,,?

Gordie's neck injury won't ever allow a 'fight' to happen….paper talk...

Big Gordy would punch 7 shades out of that gangly overhyped dog turd. Klemmer is all bravado with the no punching laws protecting him….

Boxing and plain fighting are not the same thing.
Let's say the two of them are in a bar and it starts up. Tallis would likely knock him out with his first hit.
Now let's say they are in a boxing ring - with headgear, mouth guards, heavy gloves. All I'm saying is a much younger fitter big guy like klemmer would have to play it pretty poorly to lose a boxing match between the two.
Think I'd much rather see SBW against klemmer!

:roll Big tough Gordie laid 7 or 8 unanswered punches on Ben Ross when Ross wasn't even facing him and he still couldn't even knock him down FFS. And he finished up looking worse than Terry O'Connor did when they had a go…as O'Connor said 'my mum hits harder than him'. Gordie was pretty keen on hitting blokes that weren't really ready for it and still couldn't finish them off. Pretty pathetic when all is said and done.

Agreed

In a Boxing Ring - Skill & Athletisism will prevail 90% of the time.
Selina's on Friday Night - Intent & Guile will get you a trip to the Watch House 90% of the time.

The smart blokes just takes the girls home

Tough talking when working in the media hey Mr Tallis . Geez there are some brain dead fools working in the media .
Just cause they were great footballers and for that fame get employed as commentators and in footy shows .
But really there isn't much upstairs , these muppets have never had a real job in there lives.
Mr Tallis will always be known as the dog King Hitter.
